The craze for SUVs in India is rising, and that is one reason why car manufacturers are also focusing more on this segment. Not just affordable SUVs, people are also opting for more expensive ones from brands like Land Rover Range Rover. One such SUV that has recently gained popularity among buyers is the current-generation Defender. Many celebrities have purchased this SUV, and we have also seen them use it regularly. Most of them have been able to afford such an SUV after years of hard work. However, the video we have added below shows a different scenario. Here we have a 19-year-old who is seen driving a Land Rover Defender gifted to him by his father.

The video has been shared by Mihir Galat on his YouTube channel. In this video, we see a young boy next to a Land Rover Defender. He is from Uttar Pradesh’s Greater Noida and also has a YouTube channel. The boy mentions that he is not earning much from YouTube yet, and the car seen here was actually bought by his father.

He comes from a wealthy background, and before the Defender, they owned a Porsche Cayenne. They had to sell the Cayenne due to the 10-year diesel ban in the Delhi NCR region. The boy is accompanied by his personal guard for a reason. He is only 19 years old and mentions that he has only a learner’s license. That is why his personal guard accompanies him at all times.

We see the boy driving on public roads, and he mentions that he really likes the ride comfort and road presence of the SUV. While driving, we notice that there is no learner’s sticker on the front or rear windshield. As per the rules, a learner’s license is a temporary permit that allows you to learn how to drive a vehicle in India.

All learner’s license holders can drive or learn to drive a vehicle under the supervision of a permanent driving license holder. The car should also have an “L” sign on a white background on the windshield to indicate to other road users that the person driving the vehicle holds a learner’s license.

Coming back to the Land Rover Defender, the SUV seen here is the petrol variant, and the owner bought it for ₹1.33 crore. This is the 110 5-door variant.

The Land Rover Defender comes with features like a 10-inch touchscreen infotainment system, a fully digital 12.3-inch instrument cluster, automatic climate control, a head-up display, a wireless phone charger, connected car features, and a premium speaker system from Meridian.

The SUV also includes electrically adjustable front seats, electronic air suspension that can be raised at the touch of a button, a 360-degree camera, heated front seats, blind-spot assist, front and rear parking sensors, six airbags, ABS, traction control, leather upholstery, rubber flooring, and more.

The Land Rover Defender is available with 2.0-liter and 3.0-liter petrol engines, as well as a 3.0-liter diesel engine. Last year, the manufacturer also introduced a 5.0-liter V8 petrol engine option for both the Defender 110 and 90 versions. All these engine choices come with an automatic transmission as standard.
