The entire mid-size SUV segment has been shaken after the launch of the 2025 Tata Sierra. It has been launched with a price tag of Rs 11.49 lakh, making it one of the best value for money SUVs in the market. Now, at the moment, the Sierra has been launched with a five-seat layout. However, what if Tata Motors decides to add a third row to this SUV? Well, here are a few renders which show what the Sierra with an additional row of seats would look like.

Tata Sierra 7-seater rendered

First off, let's start with the highlight of the Tata Sierra 7-seater’s rendering. We can note that, like all the other 7-seater vehicles, its wheelbase has been increased. This is what actually helps in accommodating the extra row of seats in the rear. The overall design of the Sierra’s side profile looks the same, but only the middle portion has been elongated.

This extra length has been added in a unique manner in the middle. The rendering actually shows that the rear door has been elongated, but instead of having a single window, it has a wide divider in the middle, which currently in the five-seater model is the B-pillar. Now, we understand that this design may not be practical or might not come into reality, but it gives us an idea of what the Sierra 7-seater may look like.

Additionally, what we can note is that in the rendering, which shows the rear three-quarters of this SUV, there are some other changes. This particular rendering has a longer front door, and the rear looks the same as the newly launched model. As for the rear end design, it has also been changed and does not look like the rear car. However, once again, this is just to get an idea if Tata does decide to add the Sierra 7-seater to its lineup.

Is Tata Motors planning to offer Sierra 7-seater?

We have to be very clear that, at the moment, there are no reports which have mentioned if Tata Motors is working on the development of the Sierra 7-seater. Most likely, Tata Motors will not be launching this model as the current seven-seater SUV in its lineup is the Safari, which is longer and wider than the Sierra. The Safari currently competes with the Mahindra XUV700 and Hyundai Alcazar.

Tata Sierra EV coming soon

Although Tata may not be planning to launch a seven-seater version of the Sierra, it has been confirmed that the company will be launching the electric version of this SUV. It has been reported that the company will be officially launching the RWD and AWD variants of the Tata Sierra in India in 2026. The exact launch date has not been revealed at the moment.

The Tata Sierra EV will be based on the Tata Acti.ev+ platform and will be offered with both RWD and AWD configurations. It will most likely borrow the bigger 55 kWh battery pack from the Curvv.ev and the smaller 65 kWh battery pack from the Harrier.ev. Pricing of the Sierra.ev could be around Rs 18–25 lakh. As for the rivals, it will take on the Hyundai Creta Electric, MG Windsor Pro, Maruti Suzuki e Vitara and the Mahindra BE 6.
