25 Volkswagen Golf GTIs Delivered On A Single Day By A Single Dealer

Volkswagen launched the much-awaited Golf GTI in India in May this year. The performance hatchback comes as a Completely Built Unit (CBU) import and thus has an ex-showroom price of Rs 52.99 lakh. The first lot allotted for India has just 150 units, all of which have already found buyers. Interestingly, 25 of these were delivered on a single day, by EVM Volkswagen- a dealer in Kerala! Pictures and videos of this milestone delivery have now surfaced.
25 enthusiasts took delivery of their brand-new Golf GTIs at an event organized in Ramada Resort, Kochi. The grand event commenced on June 14, 2025. The Volkswagen dealer staff can be addressing the owner crowd in the video, before handing over the keys to their Golfs. The cars are seen parked and lined up for the delivery.
Interestingly, most of these were finished in the ‘Grenadilla Black Metallic’ shade. Kerala, in general, is known for its love for darker colours. Several cars finished in Moonstone Grey can also be seen. ‘Oryx White Mother of Pearl Effect’ seems to be a popular choice as well. The ‘Kings Red Metallic’ colourway, however, was limited to a few units.
Many popular faces from the Malayalam film industry have already added the new Golf to their respective garages. They are, however, yet to take deliveries.
A known face among the 25 Golf GTI owners featured here was Madhav Suresh, son of Suresh Gopi- the actor-turned-minister from Kerala. From what we know, another member of his family has also taken delivery of the GTI.
Sabu johny, the visionary entrepreneur and the helmsman of the EVM Group - a major automotive retailer dealing in multiple brands, also took delivery of his new GTI at the event.
Volkswagen has brought the 8.5 generation (essentially the facelifted 8th generation) Golf GTI to the Indian market. This five-door performance hatchback has an extremely sporty (and iconic) design. Key visual highlights include a honeycomb grille, multiple red accents, five-segment LED headlamps, an illuminated Volkswagen logo, roof-mounted spoiler, dual exhaust tips and GTI badges.
The Golf GTI measures 4.3 metres in length and is thus fairly large. It has a hunkered-down design and rides on 18-inch wheels- these will impress enthusiasts instantly! Compromises on practicality are minimal as it comes with a 380-litre boot.
Inside, the Golf GTI looks and feels sporty. It gets sporty seats and Tartan upholstery with Red contrast stitching and GTI badges. The steering wheels and paddle shifters are leather-wrapped as well.
The kit levels are rational and carefully curated. You get the likes of a massive 12.9-inch touchscreen infotainment system, 7-speaker immersive audio, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, push button start/stop, a stubby gear selector, multiple driving modes, 10.25-inch digital driver’s display, Head Up Display (HUD), wireless charger, three-zone climate control, sunroof, 30-colour ambient lighting, and ventilated seats.
The safety suite consists of seven airbags, electronic stability control, rear parking camera, adaptive cruise control, emergency braking assist, front and rear parking sensors and Advanced Driver Assistance System (ADAS).
The biggest talking point of the GTI is indeed its powertrain. Under the hood is a 2.0-litre turbocharged petrol engine that churns out 265 PS and 370 Nm. It comes mated to a 7-speed DSG (DQ381). The hatchback can sprint to 100 kph from a standstill in just 5.9 seconds, and has a top speed of 250 kph. To improve its road manners, Volkswagen has given the Golf GTI progressive steering, electronically controlled front-axle differential lock, and Dynamic Chassis Control as well.
In the Indian market, the closest rival to the Golf GTI is the Mini Cooper S which has an ex-showroom price of Rs 56 lakh for the range-topping variant.
