Beautifully-kept 30+ Year Old Tata Sierra SUV In A Detailed Walkaround Video

Tata Sierra was one of those SUVs from the Indian car brand which was way ahead of its time. It was one of the reasons why it didn’t do well in terms of sales. It was one of the first compact SUVs that was also made in India. While we are all waiting for Tata to launch the new-generation Sierra in the market, there are several Sierra owners in the country who have managed to maintain their SUVs in good condition even after so many years. Here we have one such video of a 30-year-old Sierra SUV.
The video has been shared by Dhruv Attri on his YouTube channel. In this video, the vlogger introduces us to a Tata Sierra SUV finished in a beautiful shade of red. The vlogger gives a quick walkaround of the exterior, interior, and even shows the engine bay and boot space in this SUV.
The SUV seen here in the video is a 1994 model Sierra. The SUV is mostly stock. The wheels on this have been replaced with aftermarket units. The rectangular headlamps, Tata’s old logo on the grille, blacked-out bumper with skid plate, fender-mounted turn indicators, flap-type door handles, and alpine windows all look clean.
The vlogger shows the rear of the SUV, where we see the tailgate-mounted spare wheel, fender-mounted tail lamps, and the large rear windshield too. Tata Sierra, as we know, is a two-door, five-seater SUV. The large window on this SUV did look good as a design element. It also helped in making the cabin look airy. However, it was not the most practical car, and that was one of the reasons why it didn’t do well.
The Sierra came with a large boot, and the bench seats in the rear can even be folded to create more space. The roof liner and seat upholstery on this car have been redone due to the age of the vehicle. The owner of the vehicle retained the original dashboard, steering wheel, and switchgear of the Sierra.
The SUV came with a manual IRVM and AC unit from the factory. Tata offered the Sierra in two variants. There was a 2.0-litre naturally aspirated diesel engine and a 2.0-litre turbocharged diesel engine. The SUV seen here in the video is the naturally aspirated version. It came with power windows and power steering too.
The car has been repainted by its current owner in this red shade, and it definitely looks a lot fresher. The vlogger was extremely happy to drive the Sierra on the road and can be heard saying that it still feels quite good on the road. It is definitely not the fastest or the most refined car, but it is definitely a head-turner.
The upcoming Tata Sierra is not going to be anything like this. Tata definitely took inspiration from the original Sierra, but in terms of features and powertrains, it is going to be different. Tata will be launching the Sierra EV and Sierra ICE versions with both turbo petrol and turbo diesel engine options, along with manual and automatic transmission options.
