Indian Businessman Gifts 7 Year-Old Son A Mini Cooper For Birthday
Lately, we have been seeing a lot of videos of parents gifting expensive things to their kids. If the kid is 18 years old or more, the chances of the gift being a car or bike are high. We have seen several examples of the same online too. In most cases, the person who receives such gifts is eligible to drive them. However, a businessman from Hyderabad was so excited that he decided to gift his 7-year-old child a Mini Cooper as a birthday present.
The images of the Hyderabad businessman along with his family and the car have been going viral on the internet. The businessman in question here is Mr. Sridhar Rao, who is the CMD of Walgo Infra, a telecom company. He had arranged a grand celebration party for his 7-year-old son. The event was organized at his residence in Jubilee Hills on March 22, 2025.
On the special day, Sridhar Rao presented his son with a brand-new Mini Cooper hatchback. It should be noted that his son is only 7 years old. The gift became a talking point on the internet.
As mentioned above, the parents had organized a grand function for their son Abisri’s birthday, and several popular personalities, including politicians, bureaucrats, business tycoons, and celebrities, attended the function.
Mini Cooper S
The car seen in the images is the fourth-generation Mini Cooper, which was launched in the Indian market last year. It is actually a special model, as this will be the last time this iconic hatchback is offered with an internal combustion engine.
The exterior design of the current-generation Mini Cooper S looks similar to the older version. It is, in fact, a revised version of the previous models. It continues to feature oval or circular headlamps with the Mini badge on the bonnet.
The hatchback now comes with a large octagonal front grille that has grown in size compared to previous models. We don’t see any chrome on the exterior panels. Moving to the side profile, you will notice the iconic 3-door layout of the Mini Cooper.
The car runs on 17-inch alloy wheels, which are available as standard equipment, while an 18-inch unit is available as an optional extra. At the rear, we have redesigned all-LED taillamps finished in a triangular design. The car also features a black applique on the tailgate with Cooper branding.
On the inside, the Mini Cooper S has a very minimalistic cabin design. The traditional instrument cluster has been removed completely, giving the dashboard a clean look.
Instead, the instrument cluster is now integrated into the large 9.4-inch circular touchscreen infotainment system. The Mini Cooper S also comes with a leather-free interior, a head-up display (HUD), electrically adjustable front seats, ambient lighting, a Harman Kardon sound system, six airbags, an electronic parking brake, Level 1 ADAS, and more.
The Mini Cooper S is powered by a 2.0-liter turbocharged petrol engine that generates 204 hp and 300 Nm of torque—an improvement over the previous generation. The engine is mated to a 7-speed DCT, which powers the front wheels. The Mini Cooper S hatchback has been launched at a starting price of ₹44.90 lakh (ex-showroom).
