Getting a driving license is a dream for almost everyone who turns 18. Unlike many countries, getting a driving license is not that difficult in India. The process is comparatively easy. However, we have now come across a report where 90 percent of applicants failed their learner’s test after the Motor Vehicle Department made minor improvements to the government software.

The video has been shared by Media One on their YouTube channel. In this video, the reporter mentions that the Kerala Motor Vehicle Department had recently made changes to the system to make things not so easy. However, it looks like the minor tweaks have not gone as per plan and are making things difficult for the applicants.

As per new reports, applicants attending the online learner’s test are facing multiple issues. The first issue is with the questions. Some of the questions are extremely lengthy, and by the time they go through them, the test moves to the next question. In some cases, the applicants are not getting scores even after marking the correct answers.

Applicants are also complaining that in some questions, the options are repeating, which is confusing. They do not get enough time to go through all the questions and answers.

Apart from this, a CAPTCHA code appears on the screen after answering every two or three questions. Applicants who are in front of the computer screen often get confused when they see the CAPTCHA, and by the time they enter it, the page gets timed out.

If you enter the wrong CAPTCHA, the system automatically rejects the applicant and fails them in the test. Most people who apply for the learner’s test are not familiar with computers or the system. They may not be as fast as a professional IT person. It takes them time to get used to the process. Expecting them to answer these multiple-choice questions quickly is a bit too much.

Applicants also complained that they came across a couple of questions that were not in the books they studied. They were not even taught about some of these signs at the driving school. All these so-called minor improvements have made the learner’s license experience a nightmare for many.

The report mentions that only 10 percent of applicants managed to pass the exam. Driving school operators are not happy with these revisions and said that the department is forcing them to look for other options, such as going to nearby states to get driving licenses for applicants, as the process there is less complicated compared to Kerala.

The report also talks about another issue many applicants are facing they are not getting slots for their driving tests. There is a long waiting list, which means that if they fail the learner’s test on their first attempt, they will have to wait for months to get another appointment. Hopefully, the department looks into this matter and makes the necessary changes to the current system to make it more user-friendly.
