Bollywood Actress Kirti Kulhari Explains Why She Bought MG Comet Despite Owning Skoda Kodiaq [Video]

Actress Kirti Kulhari, known for her work in URI, Mission Mangal, Shaadistan, Pink etc, currently owns two cars- a Kodiaq and an MG Comet that she bought recently. Many wondered why the celeb went for something as tiny as the Comet. In a recent Instagram reel, she explained why she chose it as her second car.
The reel shows her taking the Comet for a drive, with her two dogs- Hope and Spirit. She is seen unlocking the car, letting the dogs get in and taking the car out of the parking and on a drive. Both dogs seem to be quite comfortable in the rear seat. The Comet is a four-seater – for namesake. Undoubtedly, the rear row lacks the comfort, space and practicality offered by the front seats. But for furry friends, it seems to be generous in space and luxury offered.
The hatchback measures 2,974 mm in length, 1,505 mm in width, and 1,640 mm in height. It is arguably the smallest car on sale today. The video shows the car negotiating tight turns and manoeuvres inside the parking. The Comet has a stiff rear suspension and tiny tyres. The impact of these is visible when the car takes on a speed breaker in the video.
The air conditioning feels great inside the Comet, and the quirky proportions of the car should have a role to play in it as well. This further makes things easier and more comfortable for the dogs.
It feels good to watch the video and its vibe. In the description, the actress has detailed the story behind the Comet. She explains why she chose it even while having possession of a Red Kodiaq.
Kirti says that she wanted the smallest car possible, for easier rides through the city traffic. She considered a few other options ( which we can already imagine!) and finally came across the Comet. In fact, she once saw it outside her office and got interested in it. She seems to be particularly happy with the car’s design and dimensions. Quoting her words ‘the Comet is the most adorable car and works magic on city roads’.
Kirti had previously shared a video of her taking delivery of the Comet. It shows the family welcoming the new car and the actress herself doing Arti, along with her family and driver.
The Comet is also to be loved for its sturdiness. Despite its tiny proportions, the hatchback has solid build and is quite heavy ( Try closing the door if you doubt!). This sense of solidity is also something that adds to its popularity.
Now let’s talk about the ownership. MG Comet now costs just around 5 lakh to own, thanks to the BAAS (Battery As A Service) model. Soon after announcing it on the Windsor, MG took this ownership model to the Comet as well. Prices came down by around 2 lakh, and now the EV makes much (more) sense to own!
It is now the perfect city car that offers extreme manoeuvrability, adequate practicality and which comes at an affordable price. With a range of around 230 km, it fits in well as the city car you deserve! You wouldn’t want to munch miles with it, when you already have a bigger (ICE) car for long commutes. For people like Kirti who prefers to travel with furry friends, the Comet looks like the best fit.
