Grandpa Goes Off-roading In New Tata Harrier.EV [Video]

When most people think of grandpas, they think of old men not being able to walk without support. However, there are a few cool grandpas who not only walk but do crazy stunts as well. Recently, a video of one such old grandpa performing serious off-roading using a Tata Harrier.ev has been shared online. This particular grandpa was previously seen doing crazy donuts using a Ford Mustang as well.
The video showing this grandpa performing serious off-roading and demonstrating the capabilities of the Tata Harrier.ev has been shared on Instagram by Dev Chahal 07 on their page. It starts off with the grandson stating what’s the point of him being there if his grandfather cannot enjoy it.
Following this, he asks his grandfather a question about whether he would be able to perform off-roading with the Harrier.ev or not. To this, his grandpa says that he is “A Jaat from Haryana” and he can do anything. Soon after, he asks his grandson to hand him the key to this electric SUV.
After which, he then takes the driving seat of the Harrier.ev along with an expert from Tata Motors. The grandpa then starts driving it on the off-road course designed by the company for customers to experience the QWD system of the new EV SUV.
Following this, we can note that the vehicle first drives on the alternating undulation course to show the all-wheel-drive capabilities, after which the grandpa can be seen driving on the rotating ramp. The video then goes on to show the SUV taking on the steep climbs and descents like it’s a piece of cake. Finally, the grandpa hands the key back to his grandson and says that he showed that “A Jaat from Haryana can do anything.”
The top-of-the-line Tata variant of the Tata Harrier.ev is offered with a dual electric motor setup which enables it to have an AWD system, which the company calls QWD (Quad Wheel Drive). At the front, it gets a high-performance induction motor, which makes 158 PS. Meanwhile, at the rear, it gets a permanent magnet synchronous motor, which makes 238 PS.
Combined, the Harrier.ev makes 396 PS of power and an impressive 504 Nm of torque, which is the highest in its segment. The Harrier.ev QWD can do a sprint of 0–100 kmph in just 6.3 seconds, which is extremely impressive. It also gets a “Boost Mode,” which is designed for instant high-performance sprints.
As for the QWD system, it gets six different terrain modes: Normal, Snow/Grass, Mud-Ruts, Sand, Rock Crawl, and, lastly, Custom (the driver can create a custom mode). This EV SUV also gets Off-Road Assist, which helps in managing torque for extreme terrain scenarios like deep mud or uneven rock patches.
The above video is not the first time that we have seen this grandpa doing something unique. Just a while ago, a video became viral online in which he was seen performing donuts using a red-colored Ford Mustang on an empty ground. Apart from this, he daily drives a Toyota Fortuner Legender, which has also been modified extensively.
