Aishwarya Rai's Vellfire Hit By A Bus [Video]
The incident, which happened on March 26, 2025, came to notice after the celebrity paparazzo Varinder Chawla shared a video of it on Instagram. It shows Aishwarya Rai Bachchan's Vellfire halted in the middle of the road and ahead of the bus involved. You can also see the driver checking the vehicle for damage. Traffic around soon came to a standstill.
BEST bus number 231 which plies between Juhu and Santacruz station, is the one that hit the celebrity's ride from behind. For the uninformed, BEST stands for 'Brihanmumbai Electricity Supply and Transport' Undertaking- Mumbai's public body responsible for civic transport and electricity provision services.
The video also shows several people gathered around it, possibly in the hope of meeting and/or checking on the safety of the actress. Some of them even pulled up the bus driver. The footage, however, doesn't show Aishwarya's presence anywhere in it.
The video also shows the incident to be of very low magnitude, as the Vellfire took minimal damage to its bodywork. Later in the reel, we get to see the vehicle's rear, which proves this. Maybe a scratch or a couple of minor dents- this Vellfire doesn't seem to have taken any more than these. The cabin remains unaffected by the hit, and there is thus no need to worry.
The Truth: Aishwarya Wasn't There In The Vehicle!
Despite the internet hyping up the incident, sources privy to the matter have confirmed that neither Aishwarya nor any member of the Bachchan family was in the Vellfire when it was hit. It just had the driver in it. There is thus no room for concerns!

The MPV in the spotlight, is a Toyota Vellfire VIP Executive Lounge, which Aishwarya Rai Bachchan had acquired last year. It has the 'Precious Metal' exterior colourway. Toyota sells the Vellfire in two distinct versions- Hi and VIP.
The latter is the more luxurious one, and a preferred choice among Bollywood celebs. Other famous Vellfire owners from Bollywood are Akshay Kumar, Sanjay Kapoor, Ajay Devgn, Rakesh Roshan and Abhishek Bachchan. The vehicle is loved for its 'caravan-like' cabin experience and overdose of luxury offered.
With an estimated net worth of over 800 Crores ( which surpasses that of her husband Abhishek Bachchan), Aishwarya Rai is one of the richest actresses in B-Town. The Vellfire thus seems like a rather humble choice for her, despite its 1.3 Cr price tag. In most of her recent outings, it was the Vellfire that Aishwarya has been spotted with.
It is huge in dimensions and measures 4,995mm in length, 1,850mm in width and 1,950mm in height. The Vellfire is powered by a 2.5-litre, four-cylinder petrol-hybrid engine that produces 193hp and 240 Nm, and is mated to an e-CVT gearbox. The MPV sits on Toyota's TNGA-K modular platform and is claimed to deliver up to 19.28 kpl in fuel efficiency.
Other than the Vellfire, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan's garage reportedly has a Rolls Royce Ghost, an Audi A8L, a Mercedes-Benz S500, a Mercedes-Benz S350d Coupe and a Lexus LX 570.
