Akash Ambani's Gets New ‘Bulletproof' Range Rover: Alia Bhatt, Ranbir Kapoor Ride Along [Video]
The Ambani family is one of the richest in the country, known for having a large collection of expensive cars and SUVs. In fact, they have one of the largest private car collections in the country. We often see family members using some of these vehicles on the road. Here, we have one such video where Akash Ambani is seen in his bulletproof Range Rover Autobiography SUV.
He is traveling with his friends, actors Ranbir Kapoor and Alia Bhatt. The video has been shared by Cars For You on their YouTube channel.In this video, we see a previous-generation Range Rover Autobiography moving out of a residence in Mumbai, followed by several security vehicles behind the luxury SUV. Akash Ambani is sitting in the front passenger seat of the SUV, while Ranbir Kapoor and Alia Bhatt are in the rear seats. The actor’s Lexus LM 350h is following behind the SUV. Behind the Range Rover and the luxury MPV, we see a security convoy following them.
The actors and Akash Ambani were on their way to meet Ayan Mukerji, an Indian filmmaker. In one of the shots, we notice the thick film around the corners of the front windshield, along with the side windows and rear windscreen. This is typically seen on cars that are armored or use bulletproof glass.
As we know, Mukesh Ambani and other members of the family are high-profile personalities. Due to the nature of their work, they often face threats. This is one of the reasons why they have Z-category security at all times.
In addition to securing the perimeter with security vehicles and personnel, the vehicles in which family members travel are also bulletproof. Many of the vehicles in the Ambani garage are customized for this purpose. Mukesh Ambani exclusively travels in bulletproof vehicles, and we have also observed that family members often travel in separate vehicles, even if they are heading to the same destination.
Range Rover
The Range Rover seen in the video is not the current-generation model. This SUV has been part of the Jio garage for many years. It is a 2017 Range Rover with a 3.0-liter V6 engine. The SUV is powered by a supercharged V6 petrol engine that generates 394 Bhp and 550 Nm of peak torque.
This is a luxury SUV, and there is no shortage of premium features. For an SUV that is almost eight years old, the Range Rover still offers high-end features like three-zone climate control, electrically adjustable front seats with memory function, seat ventilation, a massage function, a wireless phone charger, automatic headlamps, a hands-free tailgate, a touchscreen infotainment system, a premium 19-speaker system, a head-up display (HUD), and more. It even came with adaptive cruise control, which has now become a common feature in modern cars.
When this model was available for sale in India, it had an ex-showroom price of around ₹4.4 crore. The Lexus LM 350h, seen following the Range Rover, belongs to the actor couple and is the most expensive MPV currently on sale in India.
