Anand Mahindra Celebrates Scorpio Pik-Up That Covered 1 Million Kilometers On Original Engine
A little while ago, we shared the details of a Mahindra Scorpio Pik-up truck from Australia which completed 9 lakh km on its odometer. Well, recently, the same Pik-up truck has crossed the 1 million km milestone, and Mahindra Group Chairman Anand Mahindra himself has shared the images of this truck. With the images, Mahindra has also talked about the resilience of his company and its vehicles as well.

This achievement of the Mahindra Pik-up truck reaching a million kms has been shared on X by Anand Mahindra. In the images, we can note that there were three Mahindra Pik-up trucks which were given a reward by the Mahindra dealership. These rewards were collected by the owner — Valley Express. Anand Mahindra, in his post, stated, “Resilience is the ultimate key to success, whether in business or on the road.
He added, “When we enter new markets overseas, we have to go the distance. And our vehicles have to go the distance as well… This Mahindra Pik-Up just clocked 1M kms on its original engine. No rebuilds, no replacements. Kudos to Valley Express in Australia for showing how purpose and performance go the distance. Keep rising!”
Details of this Mahindra Pik-up truck
The Mahindra Pik-up truck which has crossed 1 million kms is owned by Valley Express, which is a logistics company in Australia. It operates a fleet of a total of five Mahindra Pik-up trucks. Four of these Pik-up trucks are single cab Utes, and one is a dual cab ute.
They were all delivered to Valley Express back in 2022. Since then, they have been thoroughly maintained at the local dealership. All five vehicles use the tried and tested 2.2 liter-4 cylinder mHawk turbo diesel engine that puts out 140 Bhp-320 Nm. A smooth, silent and reliable performer, this engine is the core to Mahindra's diesels - across its utility vehicle line up.
It was mentioned that these trucks, despite having such high mileage, have been using the original engine and turbo, and their chassis parts are also still intact. Only minor parts have been replaced over the years. These replacements include the alternator, rear differential (under preventive maintenance), and window switch. Apart from these, the overall vehicle has held up amazingly.
The owner and service representatives from the company, in their testimony video, shared that due to seat covers getting installed at the time of purchase, the seats have also held up over the years. Also, window regulators have not been replaced over the years.
When asked about the ownership experience, the owner of Valley Express stated that they chose Mahindra Pik-up trucks as they offered two-thirds of the operating costs compared to other vehicles. Also, these vehicles are very reliable and are ideal for commercial operations, stated the owner.
In the same testimony video, the service representatives from the Mahindra dealership highlighted the reason behind the longevity of these vehicles. They stated that Valley Express strictly follows scheduled servicing intervals. Also, only necessary parts are replaced, making sure that the vehicle is neither under-serviced nor over-serviced.
Also, over the years of ownership, only genuine Mahindra spare parts have been used, and this has played a vital role in the longevity of these vehicles. Lastly, the service representative highlighted that preventive maintenance, such as changing parts like differentials and others, has helped in ensuring that there are no long-term reliability issues and the vehicle does not break down.
