There has lately been a lot of buzz around the Mahindra BE 6. We have seen many praise it for being a unique, comfortable and powerful offering. The latest appreciative remarks come from the Chairman himself and refer to the futuristic design and appeal of the electric SUV. He thinks Bangalore’s slow-moving traffic could help in promoting the BE 6, and generate more sales. Here’s how.

Anand Mahindra was recently in Bengaluru to attend the Global Investors Meet. He travelled in the BE 6 during the visit. After the event, he shared a post on X (previously Twitter) bidding adieu to the IT capital of India. In it, he talked about how he got stuck in the city’s infamous traffic jams and congestions and how he thinks the same would benefit the BE 6.

The Group Chairman was stuck in Bengaluru traffic, but was in the BE 6, and thus remained comfortable whatsoever. Then he noticed how keenly the people around were checking out the car. It sure looked different from anything that they were familiar with and had a very unique visual appeal to it.

He saw them taking time to look at and closely examine the BE 6. Referring to this, Anand Mahindra wrote in his post ‘One advantage of Bengaluru traffic: Being stationary so often makes it like a live showroom’

It is to be noted how the Chairman chose to find a positive aspect or opportunity in the infamous Bangalore traffic, instead of complaining about it. This lighthearted farewell message is now gathering much public attention and we see netizens come up with several appreciative remarks. Many of these comments have funny sides to them as well.

‘Who needs a grand unveiling when you have Bengaluru roads? Your BE 6 spent so much time standing still that even Google Maps mistook it for a landmark’ commented a user. Another interesting comment reads ‘BE 6’s biggest feature? Comes with a complimentary audience wherever it goes. Bengaluru traffic doing free marketing!’.

‘What a unique way to turn traffic jams into a rolling exhibition, safe travels, sir!’ wished another X user. Somebody even said that the Mahindra BE 6 might be the only car that offers test drives without actually moving an inch.

A user had a question on the vehicle’s range. He asked ‘Anand Ji, what kind of range did you get in Bengaluru traffic? I think it’s the best place to stress test your batteries in real-world conditions.’ Mahindra hasn’t responded to this comment yet.

‘Being still in traffic is a meditation. Everyone looks at you and you look at everyone. Everyone is at peace at those moments and collective consciousness reaches its highest point’ reads a rather spiritual/philosophical comment. But when it comes to this case, the meditation seems to have more layers of meaning and elation to it, as you are looking at the BE 6- something that shines with its edgy design and smooth surfaces.

Mahindra BE 6: Why Should You Stare At It?

The BE6 was designed ground-up by Mahindra’s teams at the Mahindra Advanced Design Europe (MADE) and Mahindra India Design Studio (MIDS). It has a very unique styling and interesting proportions. It looks like nothing else. The bodywork gets tasteful lines and clean surfaces. Most people would like this design instantly. If not, it will take its sweet time and grow on them. There is no chance of anyone disliking it whatsoever.

If you plan to stare at one, make sure to take special note of the 20-inch wheels, oversized LED DRLs, the functional hood scoop, flared wheel arches, flush-type door handles, thick gloss-black cladding and the trapezoidal window line. The coupe-like sloping roof with integrated dual spoilers is indeed a treat to the eyes. Interestingly, the roof here, is not sloping in real, and there is thus no compromise in the actual headroom inside. The integrated spoilers and the way they have been placed create the visual illusion of a sloping roof. The rear gets oversized C-shaped LED tail-lamps which further add to the EV’s appeal.

There is an extremely high focus on aerodynamics and the design looks radical and futuristic. Many might have even wondered if this is still a concept car or a production vehicle, when it was first revealed.
