Bollywood Star Anil Kapoor Buys New Land Rover Defender 130 [Video]
The Land Rover Defender is one of the hottest new luxury SUVs in the country. This SUV is loved by business tycoons, politicians, and, most importantly, the folks from Bollywood. Today, a number of Bollywood celebrities own a Land Rover Defender, and recently, the famous actor whom we know from his movies like Mr. India and Welcome, Anil Kapoor, has become the latest entrant on the Defender owners list. He was recently spotted with his Land Rover Defender 130.
Anil Kapoor joins Land Rover Defender club
This video showing Bollywood star Anil Kapoor with his Land Rover Defender 130 has been shared on Instagram by Bollywood Now on their page. In this short clip, we can note that one of Anil Kapoor's staff members jumps from the rear of this luxury SUV. Soon after this, the actor was seen exiting the vehicle from the rear left side. He was then accompanied by his personal security guard before entering the building.
Anil Kapoor's Land Rover Defender
The Mr. India fame actor Anil Kapoor bought this particular Land Rover Defender back in August of last year. He has opted for the Defender 130 HSE variant, which is the long-wheelbase version of this popular luxury SUV. It is finished in the classy shade of Santorini Black, which is one of the most common colors opted for by Bollywood celebrities.
As for the engine option chosen by Anil Kapoor, it is the 3.0-litre, in-line 6-cylinder turbo petrol engine, which makes 394 bhp and 550 Nm of torque. This engine also comes assisted with a mild-hybrid system as well. As for the transmission duties, they are handled by an 8-speed automatic gearbox.

Apart from the Land Rover Defender 130 HSE, Anil Kapoor also owns a number of other luxury cars. Last year, the actor also bought himself a Land Rover Range Rover LWB Autobiography. What's special about this particular Range Rover is that it also has the same “6611” number as the Defender, and it is also finished in the same Santorini Black color. Anil Kapoor paid around Rs 3 crore for his Range Rover.
Prior to the Range Rover Autobiography LWB, Kapoor also bought a Mercedes-Maybach S580 luxury sedan worth Rs 1.86 crore. He bought this sedan finished in the classy shade Emerald Green. It comes powered by a 4.0-litre bi-turbo V8 mild-hybrid petrol engine. Transmission duties are handled by a 9-speed automatic transmission. This powertrain delivers 496 bhp of maximum power and 700 Nm of torque.
Other cars which are and have been a part of Anil Kapoor's car collection are a Lamborghini Gallardo Spyder, Audi A8L, BMW 5 Series, and a Volvo XC90. He also bought a Tata Safari Storme, which was used by him in one of the TV series that he was a part of.

The special part about Abhishek Bachchan's Defender 130 is that it comes equipped with the more powerful 5.0-litre V8 supercharged petrol engine. This motor is capable of producing 500 bhp, which helps this vehicle sprint from 0–100 kmph in just 5.7 seconds. The on-road cost of this SUV is around Rs 1.87 crore in Mumbai.
