Last month in April, the music maestro A. R. Rahman took delivery of his brand-new Mahindra XUV 9E electric SUV. For those who may not be aware, this SUV is an especially more significant purchase for the legendary music director and composer because he is the one who has helped in the designing and realisation of the audio experience of this SUV along with the BE.6. Recently, A. R. Rahman has shared a video of him enjoying a beautiful symphony while driving his new XUV 9E.

Rahman can be seen behind the steering wheel of his XUV 9E, and while driving, he can be seen enjoying a lovely symphony. The iconic music director was accompanied by two other people in his SUV. He was returning from the trailer launch of his upcoming movie, “Thug Life.”
For those who may not be aware, “Thug Life” is an upcoming Tamil movie, which is a gangster action drama film directed by popular director Mani Ratnam. Kamal Haasan is also co-writer in this movie, and it stars Kamal Haasan alongside Silambarasan, Trisha Krishnan, Sanya Malhotra, Abhirami, Ashok Selvan, Aishwarya Lekshmi, Joju George, Nassar, Ali Fazal, Pankaj Tripathi, Rohit Saraf, and Baburaj.
A. R. Rahman helped Mahindra in developing audio experience
As stated above, the reason why A. R. Rahman owns a Mahindra XUV 9E is because he was hired by Mahindra Automotive to design and develop the audio experience for this SUV along with Dolby and Harman Kardon. Rahman has worked on providing the cabins of the Mahindra XUV 9E and BE.6 with an immersive theatre-like audio experience.
The Mahindra XUV 9E comes equipped with a very high-end 16-speaker Harman Kardon audio system with Dolby Atmos. It also gets two sound profiles – Immersive and Studio – and a new BYOD (Bring Your Own Device) compatibility for rear passengers. Amazon Alexa and Over-The-Air (OTA) updates are also offered in this new coupe EV SUV.
A. R. Rahman joked about paying full price for his XUV 9E
As mentioned, A. R. Rahman took delivery of his Mahindra XUV 9E last month in April. At the time, he shared a post of him posing with his new SUV. And in the caption of the post, he jokingly mentioned that he has paid for this particular SUV. Generally, when automakers get help from celebrities, they offer them the cars for free, and for this reason, A. R. Rahman highlighted this small detail. He added that the XUV 9E is currently his favourite Indian EV car.
The legendary music director has opted for the top-of-the-line Pack Three variant of the XUV 9E. This variant comes equipped with a powerful electric motor, which is capable of producing 282 bhp and 380 Nm of torque. It also boasts the bigger 79 kWh battery pack that offers a range of 656 km. The company also offers lower power variants, which make 228 bhp and 380 Nm of torque, and get the smaller 59 kWh battery pack that provides a range of 542 km on a single full charge.
