Why Audi Doesn’t Want You To See This Q7 Delivery Picture

Automotive brands usually celebrate their well-known and celebrity customers. We have seen many of them share and reshare delivery pictures and short-form videos whenever a public figure or known entrepreneur makes a purchase from them. Recently an Audi dealer landed itself in trouble for doing just the same. The incident occurred in Guwahati when Sri Gurukrishna Premananda Prabhu purchased a brand-new Audi Q7 SUV. The dealership shared the delivery images on social media and later took it down due to massive public outcries against the buy.
His Holiness Sri Gurukrishna Premananda Prabhu is a spiritual coach who preaches greatness in leading a frugal life and teaches how to do the same. He is also the chancellor of Krishnaguru Adhyatmik Visvavidyalaya- a modern university (in rural India) which aims to provide value-based education with spiritualism.
Well, Harish Chandra Goswami, aka Sri Gurukrishna Premananda Prabhu recently bought an Audi Q7 in White from Audi Guwahati. The dealership shared the delivery pictures on their social media handles to celebrate their precious customer. This stirred massive public outcries.
Being a successful businessman, it is usual for someone like Sri Gurukrishna Premananda Prabhu to buy an expensive car. But here, the Guru is best known for his thoughts on the importance of leading a simple, spiritual life and sessions advocating the same.
The new Audi SUV purchase, as the public pointed out, conflicted with these. The post soon got circulated massively and people started showing up with comments, most of which were not in favour of the Guru. The dealership soon decided to pull down the post, sensing the potential damage to their customer’s social image.
It was however, too late and many downloaded the images and reposted them on various handles, generating massive engagement. Some even took screenshots of the original post. Most comments tend to criticise the spiritual teacher. Many criticized him sharply. “Wow, we mere mortals slogging from 9 am- 9 pm haven’t been able to go beyond a Kia Sonet…and this dear Baba ? Something’s out of line here friends” -reads a comment. “Best business nowadays. Next Rolls Royce. best of luck.” says another comment.
Another user commented “Seems this is the best profession now enjoy with people’s money
No degrees required no hard work” . Another user poked fun out of the post saying ‘People who ever donated to him may request for a test ride…’
There are people who justify (or try to do so) as well. A user who goes by the name ‘Babu Kakati’ says that the Audi was ‘gifted’ to him by the devotees. His comment reads “Take an Audi or a helicopter, our 15 million Krishnaguru devotees’ money, why are the bodies of those who comment badly here burning, have you ever donated 1 rupee in the name of Krishnaguru. Our devotee has gifted the Audi to the Lord. Where is your difficulty there, Jay Krishna guru.”
This is not the first spiritual leader or Guru that we have seen with expensive cars or motorcycles. Baba Ramdev and Sadhguru have all been spotted multiple times with various luxury cars, SUVs and motorcycles. Many a time, these have sparked discussions online.
The Q7 received a notable facelift in 2024. The new SUV comes with cosmetic upgrades and feature additions. The new Audi Q7 has a starting price of Rs 88.66 lakh (introductory ex-showroom, pan-India), and is available in two broad trims- Premium Plus and Technology. The new Q7 is powered by the same 3-litre V6 turbo-petrol engine as the pre-facelift version that produces 345 hp and 500 Nm.
