A few days ago, we celebrated Dussehra, and with that, the festive season in India has arrived. During this time of the year, we also perform Ayudha Puja. On the ninth day of Navratri, followers of the Hindu religion perform a ritual called Ayudha Puja. The main aim of this puja is to pay respect to the machinery and vehicles used by people on a day-to-day basis. Nowadays, most people have a few cars or machines that they worship. Here, we have a video that shows how this particular ritual is performed at the Mysore Palace.

The video was shared by NewsFirst Kannada on their YouTube channel. In the past, we have seen people perform Ayudha Puja on their vehicles. In most cases, the cars are parked in a garage, and the person performs the ritual in front of the vehicle. However, in this case, things are a bit different.

We see a huge crowd in front of the palace, and they are probably there to witness the ritual. There is a stage in front of the Mysore Palace where we see priests along with Yaduveer Krishnadatta Chamaraja Wadiyar, a member of the royal family from the Wadiyar dynasty, and a Member of Parliament from Mysore, standing on it. Unlike the other videos we have seen on the internet, the owner is not going to the car in this case.

The car is, in fact, coming towards the priest and the royal family members. The car is not driven to the spot; rather, it is being pushed by the driver and other workers at the palace. We are not sure why the cars are being pushed and not driven to the spot. We see the driver of the car steering the car from outside with the door open, while others help him push the car forward.

The first car we see in the video is a BMW 7-Series, the older generation 7-Series sedan. After the car reached the stage, the driver turned the steering to the right and stopped the car. The member of the royal family and the priest showered flowers. The driver bowed in front of the crowd, then sat inside the car and drove it forward.

Mysore Palace Ayudha Puja

It seems that the drivers are not supposed to drive the car before the ritual is done. After the 7-Series, we see a Mercedes-Benz W203 generation C-Class sedan. Just like the BMW, the C-Class is also pushed towards the stage, and the driver only gets inside the car after the ritual is complete.

Next was a Toyota Innova Crysta MPV, and just like the first two cars, this MPV was also showered with flowers before the driver could drive it away. It seems the cars seen in the video all belong to the royal family or the staff, and they were probably paying respect to these machines. We also see a BMW X5 being steered towards the stage in the same manner.

Not just the royal family, but many car enthusiasts in our country also perform Ayudha Puja during this time of the year. MTB Nagaraj, one of the richest politicians in India, also conducted an Ayudha Puja. A video of him performing this ritual has been circulating on social media for the last year.

He owns a variety of expensive cars in his garage, including a Rolls Royce Phantom VIII, Land Rover Range Rover, Ferrari F8 Tributo, Land Rover Defender, Porsche Cayenne, Toyota Fortuner, Toyota Innova Crysta, Maruti Omni, and so on. He also bought a brand new BMW XM luxury SUV, which is currently the flagship SUV from BMW in India and the only second standalone product under the M brand after the legendary M1.
