India's First 'Superbike-Only' Mall Parking Is Here: It's In A Bengaluru Mall

In the last one decade we have seen a rise in number of customers for superbikes and supercars. If you are from cities like Delhi, Mumbai, Bengaluru or even Kochi, you might have seen several supercars and superbikes on the road. It is always something that makes people turn their head and if you spot an expensive bike in the parking lot, you might have the tendency to click a picture with the bike. When you visit malls parking for such vehicles become a problem and people often come next to the vehicle and start clicking pictures and often damage it. In order to avoid this situation, a mall in Bengaluru has come up with a solution. They opened a parking lot that is dedicated for superbikes only.

Whenever a superbike owner leaves their bikes at public or mall parkings, they are often concerned about the safety as people often check out the vehicle and even play with the switches on the bike. There have been cases where people have damaged such expensive bikes in the past.

In most malls, two-wheeler parkings are too crowded and bikes are often parked too close to each other. People often rub their bike against other bikes to make way for themselves or to take their bike out. If such a scratch or damage happens to a superbike, repairing is going to be an expensive affair and the parking authorities often don’t take responsibilities for such damages.

So a dedicated space for such expensive bikes means peace of mind for the owners. They can actually leave the bike at the dedicated spot and ensure that no other bike would be parked too close to their bike. The images that are currently available to us show parking slot for 7 bikes. There are cones and chains placed outside the parking lot which blocks regular bikes from getting in. We are hoping that there is always security guard on duty who ensures that only superbikes are getting in.

We feel most superbike owners would like this facility as it would give them peace of mind as it would protect their bike from unwanted attention and vandalism. We have already seen such parking facilities being offered for supercars but, this is probably the first time we have seen such an initiative for superbike owners.

Malls and luxury hotels often offer valet services and special parking spots for such expensive cars. They are often parked in front of the malls with cones placed all around it. They see such expensive cars as a status symbol and often flaunt it to show other shoppers that wealthy people often visit their property.

They use this as a marketing strategy to attract more visitors. They also ensure that none of the visitors are getting too close to the vehicle. These services often charge more than the regular ones and we feel most superbike and supercar owners won’t mind paying that.
