Shameless Two-Wheeler Rider On Wrong Side Blocks Traffic And Refuses To Move [Video]

The majority of two-wheeler riders in India ride recklessly, and we have come across several videos and images in the past where they are seen breaking traffic laws and creating inconvenience for other road users. This irresponsible behavior even leads to accidents on the road. Here, we have a video from Bengaluru where a scooter rider on the wrong side of the road shamelessly blocks the road and refuses to move.

The video has been shared by Third Eye on their X profile. It was recorded by a person who suffered this inconvenience on the road. His car was passing through a busy city road when he spotted a scooter rider coming from the opposite direction on the wrong side. If you check the video, there is a traffic jam in the opposite lane, and the scooter rider probably came to the opposite direction to save time.

The car driver spotted the scooter and decided to stop him. The scooter rider and the pillion stopped right in front of the car. The car driver asked the scooter rider to move back, but he simply ignored him. Just behind the scooter rider, we see a Tata Tigor EV also on the wrong side. The car driver got out of the car to ask the riders and the car driver to turn the car around, but they both ignored him.

There were many more two-wheeler riders behind the car, but they all turned around before things got worse. The registration number of the scooter is clearly visible in the video. The car driver continued recording, and surprisingly, the rider ignored him completely.

The person recording the video did ask him to move the scooter and go back, but that was of no use. The most surprising part is that this happened on JC Road, right in front of a Police Chowki. Usually, we’ve seen Bengaluru traffic police get involved and take action against violators in no time, but here, we are yet to see a response from the concerned authorities.

The comment section under the video demands action against the offenders. It included reactions like: “Beware of this scooter's driver: KA05KJ1703. He hasn't even renewed the insurance for the last 6 years. If the person wasn’t filming this, he would have gotten beaten up.”

“No matter how much people rant on social media, wrong-lane driving is never going to change. At the core of it, the way our cities are designed is completely messed up. I’ve stopped fighting these idiots on the road and just accepted that this is how it’s going to be these days.”...and many more.

Wrong Side Driving

Driving or riding on the wrong side of the road is illegal and extremely dangerous. There are several examples on the internet that show why. Usually, we see such irresponsible riders without any helmet or safety gear. Thankfully, in this case, he was wearing one. However, riding on the wrong side of the road to save a few minutes or to escape a traffic jam is not something we would recommend to anyone.

In this case, the rider was not ready to move back or turn around. It is not clear how the situation ended. The scooter rider was definitely creating inconvenience for road users who were following the rules. If a car or any other vehicle had been coming fast, it would have been very difficult for them to spot this rider, and that could have caused an accident. Hopefully, the concerned authorities will take action against the rider, as they have in the past.
