Billionaire Yohan Poonawalla Adds Rs 4 Crore Maybach S680 Luxury Sedan To His Collection

Billionaire businessman Yohan Poonawalla has been featured on our website several times. He is a well-known personality among car enthusiasts, which is one of the main reasons he frequently appears on our platform. We are well aware of Mr. Poonawalla’s expensive car collection, and to this, he has now added a brand-new Mercedes-Maybach S680 luxury sedan.
Yohan Poonawalla shared an image of his new Maybach on his Instagram profile. In the photo, we can see him standing next to the multi-crore luxury sedan, finished in a beautiful shade of Nautic Blue. Typically, we’ve seen people opt for dual-tone shades on Maybach sedans, but this one is an exception.
The Maybach S680 is the flagship sedan from the German car manufacturer, and like any luxury brand, Mercedes offers a variety of customization options to its customers. At almost 5.5 meters long, the S680 is currently one of the longest cars available for sale in the Indian market. It is based on the current-generation S-Class, but compared to the S-Class, the S680 has a longer wheelbase, which is reflected in the spacious cabin.
As expected, the Maybach S680 is all about luxury and comfort. It comes with electrically adjustable seats, rear-seat entertainment screens, a recliner function for all seats, a massage feature, and both heated and cooled seats. Passengers can control a variety of features from the rear without disturbing the driver. Even the doors of the S680 feature gesture control, allowing occupants to close them automatically without pulling them manually.
In addition to gesture control, the driver also has buttons to control the rear doors. Mercedes-Benz refers to this gesture control feature for doors as “Doormen.” Maybachs have gained popularity among wealthy Indian businessmen and celebrities. Many young entrepreneurs and celebrities own Maybach sedans and SUVs.
The S680 luxury sedan is powered by a 6.0-liter V12 turbocharged petrol engine that generates 612 PS and 900 Nm of peak torque. The engine is mated to a 9-speed automatic transmission, and power is sent to all four wheels via Mercedes’ 4MATIC technology.
Besides Yohan Poonawalla, Mukesh Ambani owns a couple of armored S680 Maybachs in his garage. Abhishek Agarwal, owner of Purple Style Labs, became one of the youngest Indians to own a Maybach. Bollywood actress turned politician Kangana Ranaut also owns two Maybachs—a S680 sedan and a GLS600 luxury SUV.
Yohan Poonawalla has a diverse collection of expensive, exotic, and vintage cars. In fact, he was announced as the “Collector of the Year 2023” by the Geneva International Motor Show Qatar. Yohan Poonawalla showcased a total of 7 cars, including multicore Vintage Rolls Royces, Bentleys, and Lincoln cars at the Motor Show last year.
His collection includes vintage cars like the 1964 Lincoln Continental 4-Door Convertible, 1933 Rolls-Royce Phantom II Sir Malcolm Campbell Sports Saloon by Barker & Co., Rolls-Royce Silver Wraith Drophead Coupé, Bentley Mark VI 4-Light Touring Saloon, Rolls-Royce 20 HP Tourer, as well as modern cars like the Bentley Bentayga, Rolls-Royce Phantom Drophead Coupé, Ferrari 458 Aperta, Ferrari 488 Aperta, Ferrari Portofino, Ferrari F12 Berlinetta, Land Rover Defender 110, and more.
