BMC’s Road ‘Repair’ was So Bad, They Had To Delete The Pictures!

No matter how many times complaints are registered in India regarding infrastructure, nothing is done to solve the issue. And if something is done, the quality is extremely bad. Recently, one such example has been shared from Mumbai. A user on X complained about a road crater that was repaired four months later by the BMC (Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation). However, the post showing the repair was then trolled so much that it was deleted by the BMC.
The entire incident, where the BMC was brutally trolled by netizens online, has been shared on Instagram by Mumbai In Last 24 Hours on their page. It all started when a user named Er Ataul Khan shared a complaint on X. The user shared an image of an uneven patch of road located opposite Kunchi Korve Nagar.
In his post, he highlighted that this uneven patch causes a lot of jerks to the vehicles passing over it. He added that there is also a massive pothole in the middle of this crater, and it feels like a trench. The user also mentioned that his bike bumped very badly while crossing it. He then tagged @mybnwwardgn in his post and asked them to fix it.
What happened next was that the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation, after a few months, shared a post on X and mentioned, “Your complaint has been resolved. Please find the attached photos.” It was then noted that in the images, the same patch was fixed. But instead of fixing it properly, it looked like tarmac was just thrown on the spot, and a little bit of compressing was done.
The pathetic part about this post was that in one image, the crater was filled with tarmac, but in the other, it was not, and there was even footwear in the hole. Soon after this, the post became viral on the internet, and netizens noted the shoddy quality of work done by the BMC. As a result, they started brutally trolling the organization.
One of the netizens said, “The GDP of Mumbai is double that of Dubai, and the annual budget of the BMC is more than that of several state governments. Money is clearly not the problem.” Meanwhile, another user said, “Our benchmark of quality is so low that we don't feel embarrassed posting such results.”
Lastly, another user stated, “It did not even occur to them that the slippers shouldn't be there. They don’t even give a **** about pretending to make it look good, not even for the photo op in the most important city of the country, not a random village.” There are numerous other netizens on the Instagram post who have also trolled the BMC. The original tweet has been deleted by the BMC.
No matter how many times such issues are raised by road users, authorities like the BMC across the country do not pay any attention to them until such posts become viral. Once that happens, they quickly resolve those issues. However, even when they do, a lot of times, the result is exactly what has been shown above.
