BMW Dealer Gives Rs. 12 Lakh Estimate For Repair: Owner Gets It Done For One-Third

You may have heard that the repair bill for a German luxury car can cost an arm and a leg, and to some extent, it is true as well. However, if decisions are made smartly, these costs can be reduced significantly. Recently, a video has been shared online in which a BMW 3-Series sedan, which was involved in a rear-end collision, was given a Rs 12 lakh repair bill from BMW. However, the same repair, with all the genuine parts, was done for one-third of the estimate from the German luxury carmaker.
This video of a BMW 3-Series getting its repair work done for one-third of the total estimated cost has been shared on YouTube by Brotomotiv. For those who may not be aware, Brotomotiv is a Pune-based auto body shop that specializes in professional car painting, repair, and other tasks related to cars.
In this particular video, the owner of the shop mentions that he is waiting for a customer who is bringing his BMW 3-Series from Mumbai to their workshop. Following this, he meets with the owner late at night at the workshop and then asks him about the damage to his sedan. To this, the owner of the car mentions that his 3-Series was lent to his brother, who took it to Mumbai.
After this, he continued and revealed that at one point on the expressway, the vehicle had a puncture in the front right tyre. So, to check and get this tyre repaired, his brother came out of the vehicle, and after a discussion, he sat in the vehicle due to sudden rain. At this exact time, an oversized trailer came and crashed into his car.
As a result, the entire rear boot lid, bumper, and the left-side taillights were destroyed. Additionally, the front bumper and the front right headlight also suffered some damage. Following this, the vehicle was taken to a BMW dealership in Mumbai, where it was parked for 10 days. Finally, on the 10th day, the owner was presented with an estimate of Rs 12 lakh.
So, in order to avoid paying such a massive bill, the owner decided to tow his vehicle from Mumbai to Pune as he himself stays in Pune. He added that he always wanted to bring his vehicle to Brotomotiv, and this was the perfect opportunity for him to save money and visit Brotomotiv as well. After this, when he came to the shop, his vehicle was given a complete walkaround, and all the damages were noted.
The owner of the shop then mentioned that it would not cost him Rs 12 lakh, following which the vehicle was parked at the workshop, and the insurance process started. After this, when the insurance company approved the claim, parts worth Rs 3.4 lakh were ordered from BMW. As per the owner, the cost of repair from their shop was Rs 1.1 lakh.
In the video, the vehicle was then seen getting the replacement parts, such as the rear decklid, LED taillights, and a new rear bumper. The left fender was repaired by the shop. Also, the front bumper, front door, and some other parts were repaired and repainted by the shop. Finally, the vehicle was presented to the owner after a complete detail, and he was extremely happy with the results.
