BMWs and many other luxury cars are available at very affordable prices. While these cars are feature-loaded, the exterior design and looks of such cars are something that many people are not big fans of. If you are one among them, then you would already know about aftermarket body kits and conversion kits available in the market. Here we have one such video where an F02-generation BMW 7-Series luxury sedan was neatly converted into a G12-generation model.

The video has been shared by Autorounders on their YouTube channel. In this video, an older-generation F02 BMW 7-Series had arrived at the workshop. The customer was bored of the exterior look and wanted a fresh appearance for it. Selling a car like this wouldn’t fetch him much in the market as they depreciate pretty fast.

On the other hand, if he was in the market to buy one, he would have to pay a lot. This is the reason why he decided to go ahead and get his F02-generation model converted into a G12 model. The design of the older-generation model was looking dated.

As part of the conversion, almost every exterior body panel on the sedan was replaced. They removed the old bonnet, bumper, grille, headlamps, front fender, rear fender, tail lamps, and rear bumper. They even took off the doors and stripped the car completely before starting the work.

As they were replacing most panels, very little denting work was required. Some of the panels were a perfect fit, while fabrication work was required for others. They made sure that the panels aligned properly so that they wouldn’t face any issues with the final product.

While one team was working on the exterior, another team was handling the interior. They took out the leather trims and seat covers that came from the factory and replaced them with tan-coloured original Nappa leather from Italy. They also replaced the touchscreen infotainment system, instrument cluster, and steering wheel to give it a fresh look.

Once the body panels were fixed, they were removed and the painting process began. The stock paint on the shell was sanded away and then a coat of primer was applied. The owner had opted for the Cape York Green shade, which is usually seen on new BMW models.

The shade gives it a sharp and sporty look while maintaining the premiumness. All body panels were painted individually to achieve an even factory finish. Once the panels were painted and dried, the electrical parts like the new headlamps, connected all-LED tail lamps, and a new set of alloy wheels were also installed. The old wheels would have ruined the overall look of the car.

The finished product looks clean, and there is no way one would know that the car was actually an older-generation F02 7-Series. The fit and finish of the paint job are top-notch, and it looks like a brand-new car that just rolled out of the factory floor.
