After arriving he handed over the keys to the valet as usual. The valet took the car to the basement parking. However, when the owner came back at around 4 am, he realised that his car was missing from the parking lot.

The owner along with the restaurant staff then checked the surveillance cameras in the region to check what exactly happened. In the camera, they saw that minutes after the BMW Z4 was parked, two individuals arrived at the parking lot in a Jeep Compass.

They were carrying advanced tools, which allowed them to unlock the Z4 convertible in just minutes. The thieves unlocked the car and went out within no time. Ruhan Khan, the owner of the BMW Z4 sports car after watching the surveillance camera footage realised that his car has been stolen and without wasting any time, he reported the incident to local police.

Ruhan Khan filed an FIR at Shivaji Park Police Station. Authorities from the police station visited the restaurant and once again reviewed the footage. The cops increased the perimeter of their investigation and have also checked the cameras installed on the road to see if the car has been spotted anywhere.

A case has been registered under the section 303 (2) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) Act. The owner has also called for an improved security system at the restaurant to avoid such incidents in future. We are not sure if the valet who had parked the car the parking lot has been questioned or not.

Vehicle theft is common not just in India but, other countries too. Modern cars come with several new techniques and technologies as part of improved safety. They come with connected car apps, location trackers, intruder alarm and many more features. Just like the cars, the thieves have also updated their techniques. While most of them still rely on old methods, there are a few who are now relying on technology and are using modern methods to steal car without anyone noticing them.
