Billionaire businessman from Kerala, Boby Chemmanur, has been in the news recently for allegedly making inappropriate comments against a lady movie star in public. He was arrested and later released on bail. While this is not the first time he has been part of a controversy, this is probably the first time he had to spend time behind bars. Like most wealthy businessmen in the country, Boby Chemmanur also has a variety of expensive cars in his garage. He has even imported several expensive cars via Carnet to India. It looks like the businessman has now added a Land Rover Defender 110 luxury SUV to his collection.
The video has been shared by Royal Drive on their YouTube channel. The Land Rover Defender is a legendary SUV, and the current generation model has been a huge hit among rich celebrities and businessmen around the world. Most of them go for brand-new ones, but Boby Chemmanur has opted for a used one. Royal Drive is a Kerala-based business that deals in pre-owned premium and luxury cars.
This is actually a wise decision, as these expensive cars depreciate pretty fast, and new owners can get a better deal and save money. Boby has bought a Defender 110 SUV in a black shade. The SUV looks extremely clean. We are unaware of the specs as the SUV is available in both petrol and diesel engine options.
The SUV is available in three different body styles: 90, 110, and 130 variants. The 90 is the short-wheelbase, three-door version. The 110 is the standard five-door version, and the 130 is the long-wheelbase version. Boby Chemmanur has bought the 110. The Defender 110 became extremely popular among wealthy buyers because it offers luxury or premium features without compromising on its off-road capabilities.
It comes with premium features like a fully digital 12.3-inch instrument cluster, automatic climate control, a head-up display, a wireless phone charger, connected car features, a premium speaker system from Meridian, electrically adjustable front seats, electronic air suspension that can be raised at the touch of a button, a 360-degree camera, heated front seats, blind-spot assist, front and rear parking sensors, six airbags, ABS, traction control, leather upholstery, rubber flooring, and more.
The Land Rover Defender is available with 2.0-liter and 3.0-liter petrol engines, as well as a 3.0-liter diesel engine. Land Rover has also introduced a 5.0-liter V8 petrol engine option for both the Defender 110 and 90 versions. The 2.0-liter petrol engine generates 269 Bhp and 300 Nm of peak torque, while the 3.0-liter petrol engine generates 394 Bhp and 550 Nm of peak torque.
The diesel version of the Defender is powered by a 3.0-liter twin-turbocharged engine. This engine generates 296 Bhp and 650 Nm of peak torque. Land Rover even offers a 5.0-liter V8 engine that produces 518 Bhp and 625 Nm of peak torque. All these SUVs are available with an automatic transmission as standard. It also gets a permanent 4WD system with a locking center differential and active rear-locking differentials.
The price for a brand-new Land Rover Defender starts at Rs 1.04 crore (ex-showroom) and goes all the way up to Rs 1.57 crore (ex-showroom). The exact cost of the Defender in the video is not known as Boby bought a used example.
