The same sense of superiority is reflected in the prices as well. You’ll need to shell out crores to buy a Maybach. Maybachs often find places in celebrity and VIP garages. But it is not every day that you come across someone who has owned not one, but 4 Maybachs over the years. Bollywood actor Shahid Kapoor holds this title. Over the years, we have seen him own two Maybach sedans and SUVs.
In December 2023, Shahid Kapoor added a Maybach GLS 600 SUV to his garage. The actor bought it in a stunning Deep Metallic Emerald Green shade. He took delivery of the car with his wife Mira Kapoor, and the pictures of the same had gone viral.
In April 2022, Shahid Kapoor and wife Mira Rajput took delivery of a Pristine White Mercedes-Maybach S580- the less-expensive sibling of the S680. The luxury sedan had an ex-showroom price of Rs. 2.5 crore. The actor celebrated the purchase by posting a ‘cool’ reel. Before this, he used to travel in a Mercedes-Benz S400.
The Maybach S 580 is assembled locally at Mercedes Benz’s Chakan plant. The S680 on the other hand, comes as a complete import. The key highlights of Shahid Kapoor’s S580 include monobloc wheels and a White cabin colourway. It gets a longer wheelbase over the standard S-Class. This generates more room and comfort for the rear passengers.
The S580 Maybach comes with the latest generation MBUX infotainment system and features like Nappa leather upholstery, Burmester sound system, and a host of active and passive safety aids.
The Maybach S580 sedan is powered by a 4.0-litre twin-turbo V8 engine that churns out 496 bhp and 700 Nm. This powerplant comes mated to the EQ Boost 48-volt mild-hybrid system. This hybrid technology contributes to improving the initial acceleration and fuel efficiency. This vehicle comes with a Rear Wheel Drive (RWD) configuration and a 9-speed automatic transmission.
The actor’s second Maybach sedan wears a classy Black paint. He purchased it in 2022 and has over the years been spotted with the car several times. The actor seems to have a thing for darker shades, especially Black.
The most recent addition to Shahid Kapoor’s garage is a brand-new Maybach GLS 600 Night Series – also the first one in India. With a price of 4.4 crores before taxes, the GLS 600 Night Series is a limited edition model. The SUV wears an Onyx Black. The upper portion is painted in Mojave Silver. The vehicle also comes with Blacked-out trims and accents. The front grille has more Rose Gold inserts and the Night Series GLS 600 rides on exclusive 22-inch alloy wheels, finished in Black as well.
The cabin is also finished in a dark colour theme. It comes with bespoke black Nappa leather and tasteful use of wood and Aluminium trims. The features offered include a 12.3-inch touchscreen infotainment system, a high-fidelity 27-speaker sound system, and 64-color ambient lighting. The rear gets captain chairs which offer ventilation, heating, massage, and reclining functions.
