Brand-New Mahindra Thar Roxx SUVs Modified With 20 And 22 Inch Alloy Wheels [Video]
Mahindra has started deliveries of the Thar ROXX and the aftermarket and accessory shops in Punjab are already catching up with crazy mods and aftermarket fitments. The past couple of days saw some crazy work being done on ROXXs. Many have swapped the stock wheels with fancy imported rims, and most look great on the ROXX. Here’s a new video showing two crazy alloy wheel swaps from Punjab.
The video posted by Dayakaran vlogs shows jobs done on two Thar Roxx SUVs. The first one is finished in a shade of Green (that resembles Forest Green, but looks unique) and the second wears Black. Both the vehicles got the new wheels from Creative Wheels and Tyres, Amritsar.
The Green ROXX gets 20-inch wheels while the Black gets bigger 22-inch wheels. The video shows changes on both the SUVs in detail. The shop owner shares key details about the work and customer interests/requirements. He says both the SUVs have been modified as per the briefs shared by the respective customers.
Black Thar ROXX With 22 Inch Wheels
22-inch wheels look massive and intimidating on the ROXX. These rims get a Chrome finish and the spare rim lacks a tyre! These are shod with AT rubber from Comforser.
The stock wheel size on the ROXX is 18 inches on the lower variants and 19 on the higher ones. Fitting 22-inch wheels could thus require slight reworks in areas like the bumpers and wheel well surrounds. On this SUV, the front bumper has been chopped slightly to facilitate wheel movement while negotiating turns.
The SUV has also been lifted by 2 inches- by the shop’s trusted vendor. Even after doing so, fully turning the wheels on a levelled surface, looks like a tight squeeze. They could rub if you attempt a turn on an uneven surface. It is not legal to do a 22-inch swap on Mahindra ROXX, nor are they recommended.
However, the owner here seems to be a fan of the Wrangler and was passionate about getting butch wheels for his ROXX. He says it was his dream to have 22-inch wheels on his SUV. The Punjabi love for fancy oversized wheels is no secret! Recently, another ROXX was fitted with 22-inch FUEL Contra wheels at a shop in Amritsar. Pictures and videos of another AX5L variant fitted with 22-inch wheels had also surfaced previously.
Green Thar ROXX With 20 Inch Wheels
This vehicle is the AX5 Automatic variant of the ROXX. This variant, as such, packs ample value by offering a lot of feature and creature comforts, along with the capable diesel engine and reliable transmission. The owner also seems to own an Audi A6 and Mercedes, which the ROXX will be sharing its garage with.
It gets 20-inch Black Rhino imported wheels that look extremely aesthetic. They wear Yusta All Terrain (AT) rubber. Yusta is a Chinese tyre brand, and these too are thus imported. 20-inchers can be seen comfortably fitting into the ROXX’s wheel wells. No chop-offs were required to put these on. There is ample room for wheel movement and suspension travel. These tyres do not compromise much on ride quality either, as claimed in the video.
Putting 20-inch wheels has enhanced the visual appeal and road presence of this ROXX. The wide tyres protrude out by probably an inch or two. The ROXX already has a menacing look.
