Chennai-based infrastructure builder Baashyaam Yuvaraj of Baashyaam Constructions had bought India’s first Rolls-Royce Spectre, Rolls-Royce’s first-ever electric vehicle. He probably liked the Spectre so much that he bought another Spectre soon after that. This time around, the builder has gone for a different approach. Instead of buying an expensive EV, he bought a Ferrari. Not just any Ferrari, but the recently launched Ferrari 12Cilindri worth Rs 8.5 crore. Just like the Spectre, this is also India’s first Ferrari 12Cilindri.

The video of a brand new Ferrari 12Cilindri cruising through the busy roads of Chennai surfaced online a few days ago. The post has been shared by Car Crazy India. Apart from being the first 12Cilindri in India, it is also the world’s first to be finished in Verde GB23 shade.

In our research, we found that the car was actually bought by the Chennai-based builder. If you remember, the second Rolls-Royce Spectre he bought was also finished in a similar shade. Both are different shades, and we are pretty sure the owner would have paid a large amount just to get the car painted in this shade.

Ferrari 12Cilindri

Ferrari offers several models in the Indian market officially, but the 12Cilindri is actually special. It was officially launched in the Indian market earlier this year. What sets this supercar — or the front-engine grand tourer — apart from the other Ferrari cars is its engine.

It is actually the last of its kind. The name of the car is actually pronounced as dodici cilindri, which means 12 cylinders in Italian.

The reason why it is called 12Cilindri is because it is powered by a 6.5-litre V12 engine that generates 830 PS and 678 Nm of peak torque. What makes this engine one of a kind is the fact that unlike modern sports car engines, this doesn’t have any turbochargers or hybrid system. This is a sports car with a V12 engine in its purest form (naturally aspirated).

The front-engine, two-door grand touring supercar’s engine sends power to the rear wheels using an 8-speed automatic transmission.

The 12Cilindri is actually a replacement for the 812 Superfast, which was earlier on sale. The exterior design of the grand tourer is inspired by the 365 GTB/4, the original Ferrari Daytona. The nose has a black strip that runs between the headlamps. The Ferrari logo is also placed on this section.

The 12Cilindri gets several optional extras as standard in India. Just like any brand, Ferrari also offers a wide variety of customisation options to the customer. Ferrari has even offered some basic features as optional extras in the past. However, with the 12Cilindri, Ferrari is expected to offer features like nose lift function, Scuderia Ferrari shields on the front fenders, painted brake calipers, basic interior trim customisations, and many more.

The V12 grand tourer from the Italian car manufacturer was officially launched in the market at an ex-showroom price of Rs 8.5 crore. The car bought by the builder here would have cost more than that, as we don’t have much information about the customisations except the exterior colour.
