Most of them are racing on the streets without proper riding helmet or any sort of safety gears. The cops have issued warning that they will be taking strict action against the riders who were involved in such illegal races. The officials have already seized 45 bikes that were ridden at high speed. Many of the bikes that are used for such illegal activities do not have number plates. Many riders have even hidden the number plate with cloth or any other objects intentionally. This way they aim to hide the number and escape from the cops.

Racing On Public Road

Racing or doing stunts in public is illegal. It is actually a very dangerous and there have been several incidents in the past that prove how dangerous such acts are. Public roads are for everyone and by doing such races on road, the riders are not only creating inconvenience to road users but also putting their lives at risk.

Most of them who are engaged in such illegal acts do not wear safety helmets. Many of them do such stunts for the sake of publicity on social media and that is even more dangerous. Riding a two-wheeler without helmet is actually illegal and dangerous. In case of an accident, a safety gear like helmet would save the rider from any kind of head injury. The shell of the helmet absorbs the impact and saves the rider from any kind of major head injuries.

This reckless riding behaviour is infact extremely dangerous as the riders are not only putting their own lives but, lives of other road users at risk. If you really want to show off your racing skills or stunts, take your bike to a racing track or to a private property or closed road. Creating nuisance on the road is not the right way to do it.

This is not the first time, we have come across a report like this. In the past, cops from different states of the country have started such drives to nab underage riders and for bikers who do such stunts on the road. The bikes are seized and hefty fines are issued against the riders so that they don’t repeat the mistake. Hopefully, Tamil Nadu police is going to take similar actions against the riders.
