Citroen India didn’t have a smooth start in the Indian market, and there are several reasons for the same. It looks like Citroen has realised or identified the mistakes in their strategy and has modified the same for the Indian market. As part of their new strategy ‘Citroen 2.0’, the brand launched the C3X, which is a more feature-loaded version than the standard C3. Citroen India has now released a new TVC in which they are seen mocking the ride quality of the Mahindra Thar and Bolero.

The video has been shared by Citroen India on their YouTube channel. The video shows a rural village in India where people usually rely on rugged ladder-on-frame SUVs like the Mahindra Bolero and Thar. We see a couple of women standing on the side of a road with several earthen pots next to them.

They were trying to get them transported to the junction where they could actually sell them. A Mahindra Bolero pick-up and a Mahindra Thar arrive, but the women ignore both the vehicles as the pots would get damaged during transportation.

Soon after this, a Citroen C3X arrives and the women are surprised to see the car. They approach the driver and ask for a lift. The driver opens the boot and keeps all the earthen pots in the back of the car. The women sit in the rear seat and the car starts moving.

The C3X is based on the C3 hatchback but comes with more features. It replaces the top-spec Shine variant of the C3. It comes with LED DRLs, LED projector headlamps, LED fog lamps, an auto-dimming IRVM, and keyless entry with engine start/stop. The turbo variant of the C3X also gets cruise control, which was missing before. A 360-degree camera feature is also available as an optional extra from the dealership.

In the C3X TVC released by Citroen, the video shows how comfortable the C3X can actually be. One of the most talked-about features in any Citroen is its ride quality. The ride quality has been their USP, and the same has been carried forward to their new products for the Indian market too.

In the TVC, we see the car being driven through mud tracks and several uneven village roads where the chances of occupants feeling uncomfortable are pretty high.

In this video though, the occupants and the earthen pots in the boot were safely delivered to the destination without any issues. Once again, the brand aims to stress the ride quality for which it is known.

Coming to the C3X, it is available in 4 variants: C3X Shine, C3X Shine Dual Tone, C3X Shine Turbo, and C3X Shine Turbo AT. Prices for the Citroen C3X start at Rs 7.90 lakh, ex-showroom, and go all the way up to Rs 9.89 lakh, ex-showroom.

It is powered by a 1.2-litre, 3-cylinder naturally aspirated petrol engine paired with a 5-speed manual, and a 1.2-litre, 3-cylinder turbocharged petrol engine available with both a manual and a 6-speed automatic transmission.
