Over the last few weeks, a motorcycle enthusiast from Bangalore, Karnataka, has been testing petrol from different companies to find the ethanol percentage in each. So far, the YouTuber has managed to test fuels from Indian Oil Corporation, Shell, Bharat Petroleum, and Hindustan Petroleum. Jio BP and Nayara fuel ethanol percentage test

The video showing the ethanol percentage test results has been shared on YouTube by Zuby The Rider on his channel. In this particular video, the vlogger first visits the Jio BP fuel pump. He states that this pump is 25 km outside of Bangalore, but he has come to find the result. Following this, he collects fuel samples from Jio BP in a metal container.

Soon after, he goes to the next fuel pump, which is Nayara, and again collects the sample from there. Next, he brings these samples home and, using his setup of measuring cylinders, a transparent bottle for mixing fuel, and water mixed with green color, he tests the ethanol percentage in each fuel sample.

The vlogger mixes a sample of 75 ml of fuel and 25 ml of green-dyed water and shakes the mixture in a bottle. He then leaves it to settle for about 20 minutes. Soon after, he rechecks the samples and notes the increase in the water level, which then helps him calculate the ethanol percentage.

The results

Following the experiment, the vlogger finds that the water level in the Nayara mixture has increased from 25 ml to 38 ml, which means that the initial water level has increased by 13 ml. He then calculates the final ethanol percentage by dividing 75 ml by 13 ml and multiplying it by 100. The result comes to 17.33 percent ethanol.

After this, he tests the Jio BP fuel and mentions that the water level has increased from 25 ml to 32 ml, which means there is an increase of 7 ml. Upon further calculation, the percentage of ethanol in Jio BP fuel comes to around 9.33 percent. He mentions that it is good news for people who want to buy affordable petrol with the lowest amount of ethanol in it.
