Ford EcoSport Flashing Rear Mounted LED Lights Blinds Other Road Users: Netizens Demand Action

In India, people driving with the headlamps on high beam is a common issue, and this often causes problems for vehicles coming from the opposite direction as well as those ahead of you. Many drivers do not know when and where to use high beams, while others intentionally do this to irritate people on the road.

Here we have a video where a Ford EcoSport owner is doing just that but not by putting his headlamps on high beam. Instead, he has installed a couple of high-power LED lights on the windshield and is flashing them towards the traffic behind him.

The video has been shared by Nikhil Rana on his YouTube channel. It was sent to him by one of his followers. The video is from Kanpur, Uttar Pradesh, and it looks like the car is being driven on a highway. The dashcam vehicle is passing through the same stretch as the EcoSport.

There are a decent number of cars on the highway, and one car was actually blocking the way for all the others. This was the Ford EcoSport. If you check the video, the EcoSport was being driven in the middle lane of a four-lane highway. There are trucks on the right lane, and the EcoSport driver is moving in the left lane with a couple of flashing LED lights on the rear windscreen.

The lights are facing the rear, and the flashing beams are extremely bright, blinding other road users. The car driver is said to be doing this without any valid reason and even if he has one, using high-powered flashing LED lights on a public road is illegal.

The Ford EcoSport driver continued to do this without caring about the safety of other road users. This is not the first time we’ve come across an incident like this on the internet. Last year, we saw a Maruti Alto 800 driver use similar tactics against drivers who were using LED high beams and disturbing him on the road.

However, in this case, the flashing LED lights are actually blinding the traffic behind him, and this is extremely dangerous. As seen in the video, the car was driven on a busy highway with several heavy vehicles passing by. The LED flashing lights on the back of the EcoSport can easily distract and blind the driver of a vehicle coming from behind, causing them to crash into another vehicle on the road.

After the video was posted online, people were furious especially when they realised that the cops had not taken any action against the EcoSport owner, despite having proper video evidence and the vehicle’s registration number.

The vlogger in this video is urging the authorities to take necessary action against the offender so that he or she doesn’t repeat this mistake.
