Things can sometimes get really scary (and ugly) on Indian roads. Unexpected elements—like jaywalking pedestrians or stray animals—can often cause chaos. Or even worse, you can find yourself confronted by brash drivers. In recent times, dash camera recordings have been playing a vital role in exposing these malpractices and mishaps that they bring along. A recent video shared on the channel Prateek Singh shows a shocking case of a Hyundai Creta getting airborne after it hit a WagonR that was driving just in front of it. Let's look at this in detail...

Hyundai Creta Gets Airborne After Hitting A WagonR

Watch on YouTube

The video shows a White Maruti WagonR driving through a rather narrow road, which looks like a one-way. It seems to carry a decent speed. A few motorcycles are seen riding in front of the car, and there is one that's following it as well. A White Hyundai Creta is seen driving behind the WagonR, sticking to the right side of the road. It is seen trying to overtake the Maruti.

Suddenly, the WagonR slams its brakes and comes to a halt. The motorcycle that was following it applies brakes as well, and manages to stop at a safe distance. The Creta, on the other hand, was trying to aggressively overtake the hatchback when it did the panic braking. The Creta driver did not see this coming. He seems to be confused and brakes late.

The Creta fails to have a safe stop and ends up hitting its left front wheel against the rear right corner of the WagonR. The impact gets the Creta's left side completely airborne and for the next few seconds, we see it drive on two wheels! Fortunately, the vehicle doesn't roll over and makes a safe landing. Likely terrified, it drives away without stopping to check on the damage or on the WagonR's occupant safety.

So, why did the WagonR slam its brakes in the first place? Well, it was likely due to an unprecedented pedestrian intrusion into the driving lane! Just as the Creta gets airborne, we get to see a person moving and rushing to the left side of the WagonR. It could be this person who caused the Maruti to stop without warning. The entire action was recorded on a dash camera fitted in a vehicle which was following the duo.

The video has been doing rounds on the internet. Netizens have been showing up with opinions and analytical remarks on the incident. Most of these comments say that there was a major skill issue with the Creta driver. There are a lot of reasons to agree with this finding.

As can be seen in the video, there is just enough space left for the Creta to overtake safely, even when the WagonR has come to a full hault. The Creta's wheels hitting the WagonR has to be a driver error. Poor reasoning or a wrongly perceived vehicle width should have caused the impact.

Some Creta owners have set a bad reputation for themselves. You can see them being roasted and mocked on multiple social media platforms for poor road manners, arrogance, out-of-place honking and unsafe driving practices. Looks like this Creta owner will only add to this!

Another Day, Another Creta!

If you found the above remarks offensive, here's another instance- A Creta N-Line owner recently shared a short video on Instagram, which shows him flexing all the horses of his N-Line, by driving it at 208kph on a public road! Even worse, he starts changing lanes aggressively, and misses crashing into another car- not with skills, but sheer luck!
