Dangerous Pothole Swallows Motorcyclist On Road [Video]

On one hand, the government takes a major chunk of any earning individual's money in the form of different taxes, and on the other hand, it fails to provide taxpayers with proper infrastructure, healthcare, and basic facilities. Recently, showing how poor the roads of India have become, a video has gone viral on the internet. In this clip, an unsuspecting biker was seen falling inside a deep pothole with his bike.

This video, showing a biker falling inside a pothole with his bike, has been shared on YouTube by Ludhiana Plus on their page. In this short clip, we can see that first, a white Maruti Suzuki Alto passes over a massive hole in the road. Soon after this, an electric rickshaw was seen slowly dodging this hole, and after this, a Honda City sedan was also seen driving over this hole.

Biker Goes Into a Sinkhole

Unfortunately, just behind the Honda City was a biker who was riding on this busy road without looking down. As a result of this, the biker, along with his bike, which was a Honda Shine commuter motorcycle, fell inside this deep hole. It can be seen that as his bike went inside, his face smashed onto the road, and he was in complete shock.

The smartphone of this man fell on the road, and he was still on the road. We can note that no one immediately came to help out the man in the video. However, most likely, a few people might have helped him in retrieving his motorcycle from the hole. He was seen pulling his bike onto the road with a broken headlight.

Public Reactions

In the same video, a few people were interviewed and asked why this hole had not been fixed. The shop owners near this hole mentioned that none of the authorities had come to check and repair this hole. As per the reports, this particular incident took place in Moga, Punjab.

What Did the Moga Mayor Say?

Apart from the general public, the Mayor of Moga was questioned about the poor quality of roads in the city and specifically about this particular incident. To this, he replied that he was not aware of such a hole in the road. He found out about this hole after the video became viral on the internet.

He highlighted that as soon as he found out about the situation, he sent a team to put a barricade on the road and start the repair work immediately. Now, whether this hole has been completely filled or not has not been reported.

Not the First Such Instance

This is not the first time that we have seen such a massive hole on a road in India. Over the years, there have been many incidents where an extremely deep hole has opened up in the middle of a road. The most recent and shocking hole was found on the newly constructed Delhi-Mumbai Expressway’s portion in Rajasthan.

It was reported that a massive pothole was found in the Dausa district of Rajasthan. As per the Project Director of the Delhi-Mumbai Expressway in Dausa, Rajasthan, Balveer Yadav, this pothole emerged due to a water leak in the middle of the road. He stated that soon after the pothole was reported, the contractor assigned for the construction of this portion of the expressway was called.
