Dayanand Shetty (CID Daya) Buys Land Rover Defender: Already Owns Royal Enfield Super Meteor 650, Jawa Bobber

If you are a ’90s kid, you would surely remember the popular television serial CID. One of the most iconic characters from the show was Daya, played by actor Dayanand Chandrasekhar Shetty. Over the years, he has appeared in several TV series and movies, and it now looks like the actor has treated himself to a brand-new Land Rover Defender SUV.

The Land Rover Defender has become one of the most popular SUVs among celebrities and the wealthy in India. Over the last few years, we have seen the Defender steadily finding its way into the garages of many well-known personalities.

One of the main reasons behind its overwhelming popularity is its design. The Defender is a large SUV with a proper boxy stance that gives it a commanding road presence. From the images, it appears that Daya has opted for the Land Rover Defender 110 in a grey shade. The exact variant details are not known at the moment. The Defender is available in 90, 110, and 130 body styles, and the one seen here is the 5-door 110 variant.

In terms of features, the Land Rover Defender comes equipped with a 10-inch touchscreen infotainment system, a fully digital 12.3-inch instrument cluster, automatic climate control, a head-up display, a wireless phone charger, connected car technology, a Meridian premium sound system, electrically adjustable front seats, and electronic air suspension that can be raised at the touch of a button. It also gets a 360-degree camera, heated front seats, blind-spot assist, front and rear parking sensors, six airbags, ABS, traction control, leather upholstery, rubber flooring, and much more.

Land Rover offers the Defender with multiple petrol and diesel engine options. On the petrol side, there are 2.0-litre and 3.0-litre turbocharged engines available. The brand also offers a 5.0-litre V8 and a 4.4-litre V8 Octa variant. Additionally, the Defender is available with a 3.0-litre turbocharged diesel engine. All these engine options come paired with an automatic transmission, with power sent to all four wheels as standard.

Apart from his newly acquired Defender, Dayanand Shetty also owns a Royal Enfield Super Meteor 650, which he purchased back in 2023. The Super Meteor 650 is currently the flagship model from the Indian motorcycle manufacturer. He is also owns a Jawa Bobber motorcycle that was actually a gift.
