The Maruti Jimny may not be carrying its initial sales momentum in India. The numbers seem to have stabilised at around 1000 units a month. We, however, get to see some insane and tasteful builds and modifications based on this off-roader. While some are absolutely insane and barely road-legal (or even roadworthy), others like the one we are about to discuss in detail here, are absolute treats for your eyes and equally utilitarian.

The Most Striking Modified Jimny In India

Watch on YouTube

Since its launch in 2023, the Jimny has found its place in the garages of many public figures and influencers. Henna Jayanth is a popular automotive and motorsport enthusiast and influencer. She is known by the name Dosaoverdhokla. She owns a Maruti Jimny which she recently modified into what probably is the most striking Jimny in the country.

The modification was done by Adonz Customs. The garage has shared a video on YouTube that shows its workflow with the SUV. The front grille has been replaced with an aftermarket unit that now looks like that of an old Land Rover Defender. It has horizontal slats, circular headlamps and indicator units.

The body colour has been changed to a shade of Deep Blue. The Defender if you remember, used to have a similar colour on sale, back in its day.

The off-roader now rides on stock wheels which have been customised to look and feel better. There seem to be spacers and a lift kit installed as well. The garage has also installed a roof carrier on this Jimny and mounted the spare wheel on it. The place where the spare wheel sits on the stock Jimny now has a Proliner rear storage box. The vehicle also has auxiliary lamps installed.

There is also a retractable canvas roof integrated into the carrier. The tail lamps have been upgraded to look like those on the Mercedes G Wagon. The vehicle gets an aftermarket exhaust system, the sound of which can be experienced towards the end of the video.

The Instagrammer is planning a road trip from Kerala to Manali. Starting from the South Indian state, this Jimny will travel through Rajasthan, Kurfi, and Kaza before reaching Manali.

The garage has done custom sticker work on the Jimny that depicts this route and travel plan along with the driver's name and Blood group. It is a common practice for people embarking long drives and roadtrips to do this. But here, the design of this decal and the impact it casts on the vehicle's overall persona are to be appreciated.

Towards its end, the video shows Henna receiving the finished Jimny. She is as surprised as she is happy, to see how it turned out. She is seen getting into the SUV and driving away after the official delivery.

More Crazy Jimny Builds

Over the past few months, we have seen crazier (and bizarre) Jimny builds and mod jobs. From people putting massive 18-inch wheels to those speccing it with all wheel steering and heavy off-road equipment, there are a lot of them.

Currently, the Jimny has its ex-showroom price in the range of 12.76-14.95 Lakh. It is offered in two trims- Alpha and Zeta. Under the hood is Suzuki's familiar 1.5 naturally aspirated K15B petrol engine that produces 105 hp and 134 Nm.

A manual transmission comes standard while a 4-speed automatic can also be opted for. The vehicle is underpinned by a capable ladder-frame chassis and 4-wheel drive hardware as well. The Jimny is excels at off-roading. It is thus a perfect companion for expeditions and adventures.
