Delhi University Student Election Car Convoy Has Bentley, Lamborghini, Rolls Royce And More [Video]

It is only in Bollywood movies that we have seen students arrive at the college in expensive and exotic sports cars and SUVs. In real life, majority of students at least in India commute using public transport or have a car or a two-wheeler. The bikes and the cars are not often too expensive as they are extremely expensive to maintain. However in Delhi we recently saw something different. During the Delhi University elections, we saw a convoy of expensive and exotic cars on the road including Lamborghini and Bentleys.

The video has been shared by nukkad Sahiba on their Instagram page. The video was recorded before the Delhi University student union elections this year. Every year, the contesting candidates and their followers come out with a rally before the elections to show their popularity in the campus.

The video shows expensive and exotic cars like Land Rover Defender, Bentley Bentayga, Lamborghini Urus, Rolls Royce Ghost, Bentley Continental Flying Spur, Range Rover, Mercedes-Benz GLS, Mercedes-Benz G-Wagen and many more SUVs. The convoy was actually in front of a Delhi University college and these expensive cars had created a traffic jam on the road. Other than the expensive cars, we also see several Mahindra Thars, Hyundai Creta and other cars along with BMW X7 luxury SUV as part of the convoy.

The cars seen here in the video do not look like the one owned by the students (we could be wrong too). During such elections and campaigns, student leaders often have a budget and they often spend the amount on things to show their strength. We feel something like that is being displayed here.

The video has been posted online with a caption, “This happened in the University of Delhi, the Student union election 2024.. Not sure about this election campaign having the most luxurious cars which a real student can’t afford this much money to show off on the election…Something is very off and scary”

By showing off expensive cars and SUVs, the leaders are trying to be more popular among students and they are also trying to stand out from rest in the crowd. Students might not remember the leader’s face or name but, they’ll definitely remember the car rally organised by the same leader with so many expensive cars in it.

Most of these car may have been rented for the rally as there are several parties who offer such expensive and exotic cars for occasions like wedding and other road rallies during elections.

We won’t be surprised if some of these cars are owned by students from the college. We do see a few students standing out of the sunroof of the moving car. We do not recommend doing that in any circumstances.

Even if it is for the election campaignss, it is an extremely dangerous act. In case, the driver of any car is forced to apply brakes suddenly, the person sitting on the roof or standing out of the sunroof would lose balance and might fall on the ground after losing balance. He could also hit a low hanging tree branch and injure himself if not careful.
