Driving in India is a hectic task because frankly speaking there are a ton of idiots on the roads. You can never guess how the other driver is going to accelerate or brake or block your way. So you always have to be very careful and attentive while driving on Indian roads. Recently a video has been shared online in which a very kind person has formulated a new method of driving on Indian roads. In this video he explains how one can properly navigate on Indian roads with the help of these ABCDs.
This video explaining how one can use this simple technique to easily drive around Indian roads has been shared on YouTube by DriveSafe on their channel. In this short video, the driver explains that if a person can follow these ABCDs which he mentions in the video, they can become a better and skilled driver and have no issues while driving on the roads of our country.
Following the introduction, the driver starts by explaining the A of ABCD. He states that the first and most important thing while driving is to assess the road. Always be attentive and assess what’s coming next. He explains by showing his clip of driving with two dogs crossing the road. The driver highlights that the assessed that there are dogs on the road so they can create some issue for which he was prepared.
Next up he adds that A also stands for anticipation. He explains that one should also anticipate what others drivers driving ahead of them can do. With the help this drivers can avoid getting into accidents. He explains this by showing an example of him slowing down while trying to overtake a Tata Nexon which swerved due to the entry of a Ford Ecosport on road.
Next up he talks about the B of his ABCD. The driver mentions that B stands for “Be Patient”. He highlights that many drivers on Indian roads are very impatient and because of which they drive their vehicles into the situations where it becomes difficult for others to move.
The driver adds that when navigating through tight traffic jams be patient and let others move to create a free flowing situation. After this he adds that B also stands for BHP. He shows an example where he knows that his car is more powerful than the vehicle in front. So he can confidently overtake it quickly.
Following the B, he explains the C of his driving method which is for Confidence. The driver mentions that one should be very confident while making an overtake on Indian roads. If you feel that the gap is not enough or you have not assessed the situation properly then it is better to back off. Conversely if you are confident enough then you can quickly make the maneuver.
Also he highlights that C also stands for being considerate to others on roads. He explains that many driver are not considerate while driving on roads and they overtake hastly causing others to take evasive actions. So he states you should make sure that because of your driving style others should not have to suffer.
Lastly while talking about D, the driver explains that one should have a proper distance while driving on Indian roads. He highlights that many times people driving in front can make erratic overtakes or attempt an overtake when it’s not feasible. So it’s better to have a proper distance from such vehicles and drive defensively to avoid any accident.
We understand that keeping so many rules in mind can be a bit daunting. However, with practice everyone can become better. Also in addition to these ABCDs, make sure to properly use the horn on your vehicle to alert people that you are coming through and warn them beforehand. But also makes sure that you are not honking all the time because that can become irritating for others.
