Drunk Driver Takes Maruti Alto On A Bizarre Railway Station Platform Ride [Video]

Today on the internet, you'll never be able to guess what you might see in the next moment. We say this because when you think of a railway station, what comes to your mind? Trains on tracks, people on platforms, and vendors selling stuff, right? Well, we are sure that seeing a Maruti Suzuki Alto driving on a platform is the last thing you'd expect. As funny as it may seem, this actually happened recently in Uttar Pradesh.
Recently, a video was shared on X by News 24 in which a Maruti Suzuki Alto was seen driving on a railway station platform in Meerut, Uttar Pradesh. According to reports, a young driver drove his Maruti Suzuki Alto on the platform. Some reports claim that this man is an army personnel and was extremely intoxicated.
In this short clip, we can note that a Maruti Suzuki Alto with the registration number “JH 01 Y 7567” was driving on the platform of the Meerut railway station. We can also note that the vehicle was on the extreme right end of the platform. One of the men on the platform was seen talking to the driver of this Alto as well.
As can be seen, the driver of this Alto continued driving ahead on the platform. However, after noting that there was no way ahead to get off the platform, he started taking a U-turn in front of the railway staircase. During this time, a train also arrived at the station.
It has been reported that just 20 minutes after it was reported that there was a car on the railway platform, the railway police authorities came and arrested this individual. What punishment he received for endangering the lives of other passengers and risking damage to trains has not been revealed.
As surprising as it may be, this is not the first time that we are seeing a vehicle on a railway station platform. Recently, another video was shared online in which a Toyota Glanza driver drove his hatchback onto the railway station platform. This particular incident was reported from Gwalior, Madhya Pradesh.
It was mentioned that this particular Toyota Glanza driver got into a fight with his wife at home, following which he got heavily intoxicated and drove his vehicle onto the Gwalior railway station platform. The name of the driver was Nitin, and he was spotted by Sub-Inspector Ravindra Singh Rajawat and his team while they were patrolling the railway station at around 3 AM.
Following this, the man was arrested and the vehicle was taken off the platform. Manoj Kumar, Public Relations Officer of the Jhansi Railway Division, stated, “The youth was under the influence of alcohol and brought his car onto the platform. The RPF reached the spot immediately and apprehended him. Legal action is being taken under the relevant sections. There might be a wife-related issue, but bringing the vehicle onto the platform is wrong, and action is being taken against that.”
Most such bizarre incidents take place due to people driving after getting drunk. It is a criminal offence to drive after drinking, as the drivers not only risk their lives but also the lives of many other people on the road. After drinking, the safest option is to take a cab ride back home and never touch the steering wheel or handlebar of a vehicle after being intoxicated.
