Drunk Man Drives Toyota Glanza Onto Railway Platform After Fight With Wife: Arrested, Car Seized [Video]

Social media is an important part of our lives now. We often scroll through hundreds and thousands of news updates every day. We even come across news reports that are different from the usual stuff we see on television. One such video that we recently came across is from Gwalior, Madhya Pradesh, where a man under the influence of alcohol drove a car onto the platform of the railway station in search of his wife.
In the video, which has now gone viral on several social media platforms and news websites, we see a police officer walking in front of a white-coloured Toyota Glanza hatchback on the railway platform.
Sub-Inspector Ravindra Singh Rajawat and his team were patrolling the railway station at around 3 AM when they came across this sight. They spotted the car entering the station platform from the Jhansi end and being driven toward the Agra end.
This incident occurred on platform number 1 of the Gwalior railway station while there were people present. The passengers were surprised, as this is not a usual sight. Inspector Rajawat immediately approached the vehicle and asked the driver to stop. The officer began questioning the driver, and that is when they realised the driver was drunk. Nitin, who was driving the vehicle, told the inspector that he had a fight with his wife and that his upset wife had left. He drove the vehicle onto the platform in search of her.
Once they realised that the driver was inebriated, the railway police officers promptly removed the vehicle from the platform and took Nitin into custody under the relevant sections of the Railway Act.
Nitin was taken into custody, and the medical examination revealed that he was driving the vehicle under the influence of alcohol. His car has also been seized.
Commenting on the matter, Manoj Kumar, Public Relations Officer of the Jhansi Railway Division, told the media, “The youth was under the influence of alcohol and brought his car onto the platform. The RPF reached the spot immediately and apprehended him. Legal action is being taken under the relevant sections. There might be a wife-related issue, but bringing the vehicle onto the platform is wrong, and action is being taken against that.”
Drunk driving is illegal not just in India but around the world. In this case, the driver was not only driving under the influence, but he also entered a restricted area. He drove the car onto a railway platform while people were present. He was not only putting his own life at risk but also the lives of many innocent people.
If he had accidentally driven the car off the platform, it would have caused inconvenience to the railways and would have affected the trains passing through the route at that time. It could also have caused an accident.
Drunk people often have compromised senses and slower response times to obstacles on the road. This becomes a risk not only to themselves but also to other road users. People often become overconfident after drinking, which leads to accidents. Whatever the emergency may be, never drive a vehicle under the influence of alcohol.
