We all know that the Mahindra Thar and Scorpio drivers do not have the best reputation when it comes to driving in a civilized manner on public roads. This is because, over the years, we have seen numerous incidents where these Mahindra SUV drivers have damaged other people's vehicles and have caused a lot of fatalities as well. Recently, once again, we have another incident from Karnataka where a drunk Mahindra Thar ROXX driver was seen hitting a Volkswagen Virtus from the rear. Eventually, he was chased down and caught by the Virtus driver.

This video showing the accident between a Mahindra Thar ROXX and a Volkswagen Virtus GT has been shared on YouTube by Prateek Singh on his channel. It starts off with the creator giving a background of the incident and mentioning that it took place in Karnataka. Following this, the clip shows the dashcam footage from the Virtus GT. It can be noted that there was a diversion on the highway due to some civil work.

As a result, the traffic at this bottleneck was slow, and the Virtus driver also slowed down his car. It can be seen that the driver was letting a bus pass and was then about to move ahead. However, just when this was about to happen, the rear camera footage showed a Mahindra Thar ROXX SUV coming at high speed and then crashing into the Virtus GT’s rear right side.

It starts off with the Mahindra Thar ROXX driver taking a U-turn on the highway and then slowly speeding up to 70 km/h. We can note that the diversion and the Volkswagen Virtus GT both were visible from a very far distance. However, despite this, the Thar ROXX driver did not slow down his vehicle, thinking that he might be able to overtake the Virtus.

Soon after this, what happened is that the Mahindra Thar ROXX driver noticed that the Virtus did not give him space to overtake. The driver tried to stop the vehicle, but it was already too late, and as a result of this, the Thar ROXX crashed into the rear right side of the Virtus GT. It can be seen that there was a decent amount of damage on the Virtus as well as the Thar ROXX.

The dashcam footage from the Thar ROXX did not end here. It then shows that the driver, after crashing, did not stop and own his mistake. Rather, he quickly overtook the Virtus from the right side and tried speeding off on the highway. However, the Virtus GT, being a very fast sedan with 150 bhp and 250 Nm of torque, was quickly able to chase down and stop the Thar ROXX on the road.

Soon after this, the driver and occupant of the Virtus came to the Thar ROXX and started scolding him. In the clip, it can be seen that the driver and the co-driver were drinking beer. One of the bottles was in the centre console cup holder, and the other was in the hands of the co-driver.

Matter solved quickly

Thankfully, this particular incident was quickly resolved as the Thar ROXX driver and co-driver folded their hands and started saying sorry. Had they also retaliated, things could have gone ugly, and there could have been violence. So, when something like this happens, it is best to stop and face the situation because running away from it can worsen it on most occasions.
