Drunk Men Hijack Police Car, Demand That Be 'Dropped Home'

People in India and across the world do wild things after getting extremely drunk. These drunkards forget that they have to abide by rules and regulations. Instead of doing that, these people do all kinds of weird things. Recently, a video has been shared online in which two drunk men were seen sitting inside a police interceptor Mahindra Bolero. Reportedly, these men stole the key from police officers and asked them to drop them at their home.
This video showing the funny as well as concerning incident of two drunk men arguing with police officers has been shared on X by Times Algebra on their page. As per the post, this particular incident took place in Assam. What actually happened was that two drunk men somehow were able to snatch the keys of a Mahindra Bolero interceptor from the police officers.
Following this, these men sat on the middle row of the SUV. It can be noted that one of these men was sitting with his feet resting against the front seats like he was sitting on a couch at his residence. Meanwhile, the other person was sitting on the left side of the first man, facing towards the driver-side rear door where a police officer was standing outside.
It can be seen and heard that the police officer was asking these men to give them the keys to the vehicle back. However, the man facing the officer was extremely drunk and was repeating only one thing. He can be heard saying, “We want rights.” The police officer, on the other hand, was getting frustrated and shouting at him and his friend.
The drunk man was also arguing that this particular car is their car. We believe he meant to say that as they pay taxes, this car belongs to them (which, of course, is not the case). To this, the police officer then started asking questions to the other man, who was still sitting very comfortably and answering the questions.
After this, the police officer again asked for the key back. This time around, the man facing him said that they are not breaking the law by drinking and driving and that it is their right to get dropped off at home. It can then be seen that the police officer was getting extremely irritated. Soon after this, another man came to the spot and started to take the man sitting with legs resting out of the vehicle.
However, it can be seen that he was unable to do so as the man’s hand slipped away both times. During this, the drunk man was still sitting like nothing had happened. After this, the police officer started searching the pockets of these men for the keys. But while doing this, these men got involved in a short altercation.
In the clip, one of these men was even seen mocking and threatening the police officer by showing his phone and claiming he is a social media influencer. The video then ends there. However, it has been reported that these drunk men were then detained by the authorities and most likely fined.
A number of netizens laughed at this incident, and the phrase “We want rights” has become a meme on the internet. Meanwhile, some netizens highlighted the other side of the spectrum. One of the users said, “Both don't look dumb or innocent. Intention seems to make the line be heard/recorded & if luck permits, get beaten & play victim. Our cops all over need a clear mechanism to identify any such acts & resolve it then & there.”
Another user added, “Unbelievable audacity! Drunk men mocking police, snatching keys & dancing on a patrol vehicle isn’t ‘rights’ – it’s pure lawlessness. Good that Assam Police detained them swiftly. Zero tolerance for such hooliganism!”
