Wife Jumps Off, Biker Doesn't Realise It! (Video)

Drunk driving is one of the biggest issues in India, as every year it claims thousands of lives. However, despite this, people still continue to do it without any issue. Now, have you ever seen a bike rider so drunk that he did not even notice that their pillion had jumped out mid-ride? Well, recently, a video showing such a pillion wife jumping out of her drunk husband's motorcycle has been shared online. The rider was then confronted by a lot of other people on the road.

Wife jumps out of bike mid-ride

This video showing a drunk man riding dangerously on public roads with his wife and son has been shared on Instagram. It comes courtesy of Daily Bharat News on their page. In this short video, what happens is that a bike rider was seen recklessly riding his motorcycle with his young son and his wife sitting behind him. He can be first seen almost getting crushed in between two vehicles.

Soon after this, what happens is when he loses the balance of the bike and it falls towards the left side. His wife jumps out of the motorcycle and was seen staring at the biker in shock. She did not shout or say anything. As a result, this biker did not know that his wife had jumped out mid-ride.

This rider was heavily drunk

As per the post, this particular motorcycle rider was extremely intoxicated and did not notice his missing wife. We can note that the kid, who was holding this man very tightly, was also terrified. He saw his mother jumping out of the motorcycle. However, he did not inform his father. They continued driving on the road.

Confronted by public

Soon after this, what happens is that this motorcycle rider starts weaving on the road, making it more unsafe for himself and his young son. At the same time, two people on another bike, who were behind when the wife jumped out of the bike, were recording this whole incident. They were constantly trying to stop this drunk motorcycle driver.

However, this drunk motorcycle rider was not stopping. What happens next is that two men ride alongside this rider and inform him that his wife jumped out mid-ride. Unfortunately, as this man was extremely drunk, he could not understand what these men were trying to say. We can note that he was also arguing with the people on the road. Now, whether this motorcycle rider went on to pick up his wife or not has not been mentioned.

Drunk rider’s punishment

Currently, in India, under the Motor Vehicles Act, 1988, drunk drivers can be fined up to Rs 10,000, or they can be imprisoned for six months. The fine for repeat offenders is Rs 15,000 and two years of imprisonment. Also, if the drunk driver hurts someone, under Section 279 or 337 IPC, they can be jailed for up to 6 months, or fined, or both.

Also, under Section 338 IPC, there will be jail up to 2 years plus a fine. Lastly, if a drunk driver hits a vehicle, they will be punished under Section 304A IPC – jail up to 2 years or more, depending on the court’s decision. License suspension or cancellation, vehicle impoundment, court proceedings, and a criminal record.
