Goa is the party capital of India, and we often come across reports of people getting carried away in the celebration and getting into trouble with locals and authorities. In most cases, the people who create these issues are tourists. They often get drunk and create a nuisance on the road. Here, we have one such video of a tourist from Maharashtra who created a ruckus on the road after getting drunk. The person was so intoxicated that he was driving the Brezza with a blown-out tyre.

The video has been shared by ingoa24x7 on their Instagram page. In this video, we see a white-colored Maruti Brezza with a Maharashtra registration being driven on the narrow roads of Goa. Initially, everything looks normal. You then notice that several locals are actually following the car.

The driver is probably trying to escape from these locals. We then notice that the left tyre of the Brezza is actually missing. The tyre probably got blown out, and the owner decided not to stop and continued driving. The tyre was completely torn, and he was, in fact, driving on the rims. The steel rims were leaving marks on the road.

It looks like the driver of the car was drunk and had no control over the vehicle. He was so intoxicated that he crashed the car into the median, damaging the left fender and front bumper.

It is possible that the left tyre got damaged during this crash. The driver continued driving on the busy Goan road, posing a threat to other road users. Finally, we see that the owner drove the car into a vacant plot on the side of the road. Locals eventually opened the door and pulled the driver out.

The video shows that there were a couple of water bottles in the car. There are comments like, “He wants to show Maruti cars' build quality,” and “And they say tourism is declining due to harassment by Goan locals. How can we Goans keep quiet if these tourists can’t even own up to the damage they’ve caused?”

Not the First Time

This is not the first time we have come across an incident like this in Goa. People often get drunk and drive on the road, which frequently causes accidents. Other than drunk driving, people also take their cars to beaches and get stuck. While some of them do it unknowingly, others do it under the influence of alcohol.

Beaches are protected in Goa, and driving on them is considered illegal. If caught, authorities can take action against the owner and even seize the vehicle for trespassing.

Drunk Driving

Driving a vehicle—be it a two-wheeler or a four-wheeler—under the influence of alcohol is extremely dangerous. Drunk individuals often have compromised senses and slower response times to obstacles on the road.

This poses a risk not only to themselves but also to other road users. People often become overconfident after drinking, which leads to such accidents. In case you have a drink, leave your vehicle or take a driver.
