Indian Woman’s First Car Itself Is A Porsche 911 Carrera S [Video]

Buying your first car is always special. For most people, the first car is usually something small, sensible, and easy to drive around. Most people also prefer it to be something cheap, so that they don’t end up paying huge sums on repairs in case they dent it in the initial years. The progression to more expensive, high-performance cars and SUVs, in most cases, is gradual. In an interesting turn of events, an Indian woman jumped the queue and bought a Porsche 911 Carrera S as her first car! A video of her taking delivery of the iconic sports car has now surfaced online.
Neha Upadhyay Samuel, a successful entrepreneur and the co-founder and COO of Fitze Dubai, is the person we are talking about. She lives in Dubai and took delivery of the Porsche with her family. Interestingly, she has bought a previous generation of the 911 Carrera S.
This generation is known as the '991.2', implying a mid-cycle facelift of the 991 generation that was launched in 2011. 2019 was the final production year for the 991.2.
If you didn’t know it yet, the 991 is the seventh generation of the sports car. This female entrepreneur thus bought her 911 Carrera S from the pre-owned car market.
The video starts by showing Neha completing the paperwork. She then shows the Porsche’s key to the camera. As it progresses, we can see the entrepreneur with her family standing by the car, kept under a Black veil. It is soon uncovered, revealing a stylish 911 Carrera S. The car has its upholstery finished in a classy Burgundy shade.
Neha is, in fact, a fitness enthusiast and influencer as well. In the video’s description, she shared her long, soulful, and inspiring story of making the Carrera S her first car. She also expressed gratitude to her family for supporting her on this journey. At the time of writing, this video has had over 172K views. People from various demographies, including popular figures, have shown up with congratulatory comments on it.
When launched in 2016, the 991.2 generation’s biggest highlight was its engine. It saw the entry of turbocharged engines into the Carrera lineup. The previous 3.4-litre and 3.8-litre naturally aspirated (NA) engines now made way for a smaller 3.0L twin-turbocharged flat-six petrol engine.
This wasn’t a move that purists would approve of. However, in the years that followed, we saw Porsche fans adapting to the ‘new normal’. The 911 Turbo and Turbo S featured a larger 3.8L twin-turbo flat-six in two different states of tune.
Circling back, the Carrera S was more powerful than the entry-level Carrera, offering 420hp and 500Nm. It came with a seven-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission and had a rear wheel drive (RWD) layout. When equipped with the Sport Chrono package, the 991.2 Carrera S could do the 0-100 kph sprint in just 3.9 seconds!
In addition to these mechanical upgrades, it also came with notable styling tweaks, a new touchscreen infotainment unit, an optional 918-borrowed sports steering wheel, and wider rear tyres.
Back in 2016, the Carrera S had an ex-showroom price of Rs 1.6 Crores in India. Interestingly, this is much lower than the current ex-showroom price of the entry-level Carrera- 1.99 Crores, before options!
Then, the Carrera lineup had four distinct variants- the Carrera, Carrera Cabriolet, Carrera S, and the Carrera S Cabriolet. The ‘S’ in these implied mightier engines and performance premiums over the standard variants. The eighth generation (992) debuted in 2018, but the 991.2 generation is still
