Many young entrepreneurs in India have been buying expensive and exotic cars, and we have featured several of them on our website before. In most cases, young businessmen go for supercars, while older ones often prefer luxury cars from brands like Rolls-Royce and Bentley. Here, we have a video that shows one of India’s oldest Ferrari Purosangue owners taking delivery of his brand-new supercar.

The video was shared by World Car Spotter on their Instagram page. The elderly businessman seen in the video is Mr. Sekhar Vasan, Managing Director of Sansera Engineering, an engineering-led integrated manufacturer of complex and critical precision components for both automotive and non-automotive sectors.

In the video, Mr. Vasan steps out of his office in Karnataka, surrounded by staff and family members. As he walks ahead, he is greeted by a representative from the Ferrari dealership. After receiving the keys, Mr. Vasan takes the driver’s seat and goes for a short drive.

He is later seen bringing the car back to the office and posing for photographs with the Ferrari. The exact specifications or details of the car’s customizations are not known, though such options would likely increase its price further.

The Ferrari featured in the video is a very special model - the Purosangue, Ferrari’s first-ever SUV to enter production. In fact, it is also the most practical Ferrari made to date. Launched in India last year, it carries a price tag of around ₹10.5 crore (ex-showroom). The Ambani family purchased one soon after its launch.

What makes the Ferrari Purosangue unique is its practicality, being the most versatile Ferrari ever built. It comes with a 4-door design, usable rear seats, and a functional boot. The car in the video features a striking red exterior, likely in the stunning Rosso Portofino shade, which adds to its sporty appeal.

The rear-hinged doors provide easier ingress and egress for passengers and can be electronically operated. The rear seats are not the most spacious, but they are far better than not having seats at all.

Under the hood, it houses a 6.5-liter naturally aspirated petrol engine that produces 725 PS and 716 Nm of peak torque. The Purosangue was introduced as a competitor to the Lamborghini Urus and Aston Martin DBX.

The model quickly became popular among India’s wealthy businessmen. Bengaluru-based real estate entrepreneur Boopesh Reddy (of Bren Garage) was the first in India to acquire a Ferrari Purosangue, even before its official launch in the country.

Alongside him, the Ambani family often referred to as the “Jio Garage” also added one to their collection. Akash Ambani has frequently been spotted driving the SUV on Mumbai’s roads. Notably, the car was also used to drop Shah Rukh Khan at the airport during the pre-wedding celebrations of his son in Jamnagar.
