This Man Drove His Mercedes Benz G-Wagen From USA To India: Fuel Cost Alone Was Rs 22 Lakh
Who doesn't love a long drive, right? But what if we ask you to travel all the way from California, United States of America, to India? You'd say that we are mad. However, be assured that we are not mad, and recently, an entrepreneur from the USA did this exact thing. What's even more shocking is that this person managed to drive through 22 countries, 50 cities, and over 44,000 km in a Mercedes-Benz G-Wagen, which has a mileage of 3.5-4 kmpl.
Recently, a video of the owner of this particular Mercedes-Benz G-Wagen, who drove from California to Goa, has been shared on YouTube by Her Garage on their channel. In this video, the vlogger introduces Navtez Dadwal, the man who was mad enough to drive his Mercedes-Benz G63 AMG for 110 days straight and travel over 44,000 km just to reach his home in Goa.
How did this journey begin?
Following the introduction, the vlogger then asks the owner of this particular G-Wagen about his journey and how he got the idea. To this, he replied that he was born in India. However, he has been staying in California, USA, for over 20 years. He then mentions that it was a dream for a very long time to travel from his home in the USA to his hometown in Goa.
For this reason, he planned this journey, and he elaborated that he had been saving for a long time to do this trip. Following this, the vlogger asked him why he chose the Mercedes-Benz G63 AMG for this journey. To this, he replied that he just wanted to bring his beloved car, the G-Wagen, to India. After this, the vlogger questions him about his route.
Following this, he replies that he first drove from California to Chicago and then, through Montreal, he shipped his vehicle to Liverpool, Europe. After this, he started driving through countries like France, Greece, Latvia, and others. He then mentions that he went to Turkey to get his visa for Iran. However, as he is an American citizen, he was denied Iran’s visa.
As a result, he had to take a U-turn of 3,300 km to go back to Turkey and take the other route. Following this, he then applied for a Russian visa, which helped him go through countries like Afghanistan, Kazakhstan, and Uzbekistan and finally enter Pakistan, then reach Amritsar, and conclude his journey in Goa.
Mileage of G-Wagen and cost of fuel
Following this, the vlogger then asked the owner of this particular G-Wagen about the fuel efficiency figures of his fuel-guzzling G63 AMG. To this, he answered that when the fuel quality was good, the SUV managed to provide him with a mileage of 4 kmpl. However, when the quality of fuel was bad, he could get a mileage of 3-3.5 kmpl.
The vlogger then questioned the owner about the total cost of fuel for this journey. The owner then mentions that in just the fuel cost alone, he had to spend Rs 22 lakh. Following this, he starts talking about the experiences he had throughout the countries and cities.
He highlighted that the worst experience was in Russia, where he was harassed by the customs officers. As for the better experiences, he mentions that Pakistan, Afghanistan, and others had good hospitality.
