In the last couple of years, the number of customers opting for an electric car has gone up. With the rise in popularity, car manufacturers have also started putting in more effort to launch better and improved electric vehicles in the market. People also share their experiences after buying EVs online. Here, we have one such video where owners of the Hyundai Creta Electric, Mahindra XUV400 EV, and Volvo XC40 Recharge EV share their experiences with their EVs.

The video has been shared by Baiju N Nair on his YouTube channel. The first customer in the video is a Hyundai Creta Electric owner. It is actually one of the recent electric vehicles from the South Korean brand. The owner of the Creta Electric seen here is an IT professional working in Trivandrum.

He commutes from Kochi to Trivandrum in his new Creta Electric. He mentions that he has been a loyal customer of Hyundai since the beginning. He used to own an i10, then upgraded to a Hyundai Venue diesel, and only after using the Venue for almost six years did he upgrade to the Creta Electric.

He initially thought of upgrading to an automatic car but was surprised after driving the EV. The reason he wanted to upgrade to an automatic was because he was facing health issues after driving the diesel car in traffic for long hours. The first thing he noticed about the Creta Electric was the NVH (Noise, Vibration, and Harshness). He felt extremely happy and was impressed with the performance too.

The owner mentions that he has managed to achieve a 450 km range with the EV. Coming to the negatives, he felt Hyundai could have offered cornering lamps with the EV. Apart from this, the owner is happy with the service and calls it a practical car. As he is currently relying on fast chargers more, his running cost is around Rs 2.5 per km.

Mahindra XUV400 EV

Next is the Mahindra XUV400 EV owner. He is working as an insurance surveyor for vehicles in Kochi. The owner bought the EV when it was first launched in the market. The reason he went with the XUV400 and not the Nexon.ev is because he liked the driving dynamics and ride comfort of the Mahindra. He also mentions that it feels more powerful and elevates the overall driving experience.

The owner also mentions that he was a bit sad when he saw the recently launched BE6 and XUV 9E. If he were in the market to buy a new EV now, he would have bought the BE6 as he really liked the design and features it offers.

In the last 1.5 years, the owner of the XUV400 has driven over 50,000 km and has not faced many issues. Charging takes around 3-5 hours at home as he doesn’t wait until the charge drops too low.

He has taken the car on long drives and has come back impressed. He mentions that his running cost has been under Rs 1 per km as he gets around 300-350 km of range in the XUV400 EV. He acknowledges that the cabin does feel dated, but you almost forget that the moment you start driving it.

Volvo XC40 Recharge

The last car in the video is the XC40 Recharge. The owner paid around Rs 60 lakh for the electric SUV and upgraded from a Honda Jazz hatchback. It is actually a huge upgrade, but the reason the owner did this was that he was a big fan of the Swedish car brand. He was looking for other options in the market, but the XC40 felt more appealing as it offered almost all the features he was looking for.

The owner opted for an extended warranty and service package, which gave him peace of mind. He uses it every day to commute from home to Kochi for work and has driven around 30,000 km in the last year after buying this EV. He is happy with all the features and range.

However, he feels that the ADAS features in the car are not tuned for Indian conditions, and due to this, the car brakes whenever it detects an object, which has caused minor accidents in the past. Apart from this, he is satisfied with the vehicle in terms of performance, space, features, and comfort.
