Man buys Mahindra BE 6 After Driving Nexon.EV For 1.4 Lakh Kms: Now Owns 2 EVs
The majority of car buyers in India are opting for ICE cars over EVs because of the trust factor. However, there are some people who adopted electric mobility early and have now made the switch completely to EVs. Recently, one such owner shared his experience of buying and owning a Tata Nexon EV Prime and a brand-new Mahindra BE 6. He gives his insights into the ownership of these two electric SUVs.
Tata Nexon EV owner buys Mahindra BE 6
The video in which the Tata Nexon EV and Mahindra BE 6 owner shares his ownership experience of these two electric vehicles has been shared on YouTube by EVolution-Nick on their channel. It starts off with the vlogger introducing the owner of these two electric SUVs. The owner mentions that he lives in Hyderabad and works in the construction industry.
Tata Nexon EV ownership review after 1.4 lakh km
Following the introduction, the vlogger asks the owner about the details of his Tata Nexon EV. To this, he replies that he bought this vehicle back in January of 2021 and since then he has driven it over 1.4 lakh km. After this, the host asks the owner about the battery health and range situation of his Nexon EV. The vlogger also questions the owner about his daily commute distance.
The owner then replies that he drives a minimum of 100 km each day. He then adds that initially he was getting a range of 250 km with the air conditioning turned on. However, at 97,000 km the battery of his vehicle was replaced because the range was depleting. He mentions that the vehicle would stop after reaching 25 percent battery life.
Tata Motors offers the Nexon EV with an 8-year warranty on the vehicle, so he got his vehicle’s first battery replaced under warranty. After this, the owner added that his second battery, which is the current battery, offers a range of 210–220 km and has covered around 28,000 km, and it currently has an SOH (State of Health) of 99.3 percent.
Overall, the owner highlighted that he is extremely happy with the Tata Nexon EV and does not plan on changing it. He added that so far he has seen no rusting issues on the body and the rest of the things on the vehicle are fine. So in the future, he might again replace the battery and use it for a few more years.
Why did the owner buy a Mahindra BE 6?
Following this, the vlogger then asked him about his purchase of the Mahindra BE 6. He stated that by using the Tata Nexon EV for more than 1.4 lakh km, he has adapted to electric mobility. And as his requirements for long-distance travel have increased, he has chosen to buy the BE 6 which offers more range.
When asked if he would ever like to switch back to an ICE vehicle, the owner highlighted that he will never be buying an ICE vehicle again. He added that EVs offer far superior performance and they can also be charged at home. The owner mentions that over 1.4 lakh km of using his Nexon EV, he has managed to save over Rs 12 lakh in fuel costs.
The vlogger in the video also asked him about the tyres of EVs, which are known to wear out fast. To this, the owner replies that his original set of MRF tyres lasted him 70,000 km. He added that his newer set of Bridgestone tyres has also lasted 70,000 km.
