Farmer Takes Delivery Of 3 Crore Mercedes Benz G-Wagen [Video]
The Mercedes Benz G Wagen (or the G Class as it is called) holds a sky-high reputation among enthusiasts and in society at large. Arrive at an occasion in a G and you’re in for a kingly treatment! Such is the aura that this German SUV bestows on its user base. It is an extremely popular choice among A-list celebs and high-profile businessmen. Recently, the video of a farmer taking delivery of the 3 Crore worth SUV surfaced on Instagram. The G in this case, seems to be a gift from his son who’s achieved success in his life.
The video shows the farmer and his family- wife and son- arriving at the Mercedes Benz dealership in what looks like a Mercedes GLS. The son is dressed in Western clothes while his father and mother are dressed in Desi attire. They bought the G in Black.
The wife is seen performing Aarti to the newly bought vehicle and the farmer himself can be seen praying on the auspicious occasion. Further, he is seen getting a first taste of the legendary Mercedes SUV and driving it out of the showroom. Successful sons gifting their dads with expensive cars is always satisfying to watch.
Previously, we had seen a Pune jeweller gift his parents a brand new Mercedes GLS SUV worth 1.7 crore. The person who goes by the Instagram name Prasad Nagarkar gave his parents a Mercedes-Benz GLS 450 finished in the Hyacinth Red metallic shade. In another incident, Marathi actor Prasad Oak’s son gifted him a BMW X1 SUV.
Mercedes G Wagen In India
Mercedes Benz sells the legendary Geländewagen in India in two forms- the G400d (diesel) and G63 AMG. The SUV is in high demand in India. Both the G400d AMG Line and G400d Adventure editions have hefty ex-showroom starting prices of 2.55 Crores, each! Taxes and other charges included, it is easily 3+ crores on-road!
Mercedes Benz G400d comes with a 3.0-litre inline six-cylinder diesel engine (OM656), that churns out 326bhp and 700Nm. It is buttery smooth and comes mated to a 9-speed automatic transmission. The powertrain here is considerably higher than those of its predecessor and is powerful enough to make this 2.5-ton SUV accelerate quickly- 0-100 kph in just 6.4 seconds!
The new G Class is based on a traditional ladder-frame chassis and comes equipped with a special ‘G-Mode’ to further aid its off-road driving setup. It adapts the steering wheel, damping, and acceleration inputs. The ground clearance stands at 241mm and the water wading capacity is at 700 mm. The approach and departure angles are 30.9 and 29.9 degrees respectively.
In the latest generation, the cabin experience has been significantly improved. It comes with a multi-function steering wheel wrapped in premium Nappa leather, 64-colours ambient lighting, a sliding sunroof, electrically adjustable and heated front seats with memory functions, 3-zone climate control and a Burmester sound system.
Like most other modern Mercedes Benz cars and SUVs, the new G gets a widescreen cockpit powered by MBUX in-car infotainment engine. Connectivity solutions like Apple Carplay are also offered. The air vents are finished in Chrome and there is even an air purifier offered.
Key design highlights of the new G Class include a roof rack, rear removable ladder and logo projector on ORVMs. A wide range of colour choices are on offer as well.
