Farmer In Traditional Clothes Takes Delivery Of Rs. 3 Crore Mercedes-Benz G-Wagen (Video)

The Mercedes-Benz G-Wagen has long stood as a symbol of power, wealth, and success. We find it in the multi-crore garages of A-list celebrities and big businessmen. The G turns heads wherever it goes. A video circulating online shows a farmer taking delivery of his brand-new G-Class SUV, wearing traditional clothes. This G was, in fact, a gift from his son!
In the video shared on Instagram, we see the farmer and his family- son and wife, arriving at the Mercedes-Benz dealership in a White GLS SUV. The farmer and his wife are both dressed in traditional Indian outfits, while the son, Krish Gurjar, is seen in a Western outfit. The move inside, and we can see their new G-wagen kept under a classy veil. The farmer and his wife unveil it together.
The lady then performs aarti on the new SUV. The farmer then receives the keys, together with his son. He then gets inside and checks out the cabin in detail. He then starts it and slowly drives it out of the dealership. As he drives away, the son can be seen seated in the front passenger seat. The family here has bought the G400d variant. It had an ex-showroom price of Rs 2.55 Crores when it entered the market in 2023. Today, the on-road price goes beyond Rs 3 crores.
This isn’t the first time that we’ve seen successful sons gifting their parents expensive cars and SUVs. Previously, we had seen a Pune jeweller gifting his parents a Mercedes GLS 450 worth 1.7 Crores. It looked brilliant in the Hyacinth Red Metallic shade. In another incident, Marathi actor Prasad Oak’s son gifted him a BMW X1.
Mercedes-Benz sells two forms of the Geländewagen (G-Wagen) in India: the G400d, powered by a diesel engine, and the G63 AMG, housing a massive V8 petrol engine under its hood. The G400d comes in two trimlines- AMG Line and the Adventure edition. A range of colours are offered on the new G.
The G400d has a mighty 3.0-litre inline six-cylinder diesel engine (OM656) that makes 326bhp and 700Nm. It comes mated to a 9-speed automatic transmission. The G400d can do the 0-100 kph sprint in just 6.4 seconds. The fact that the G is a 2.5-tonne SUV shows just how powerful and capable this engine is.
Even in 2025, the Geländewagen continues to be based on a traditional ladder-frame platform. It is even equipped with a special ‘G Mode’ for effortless off-road adventures. Activating this adapts the steering wheel, damping, and acceleration inputs to suit off-road runs.
The G has a ground clearance of 241mm and a water wading capacity of 700mm. The approach and departure angles of this vehicle are 30.9 and 29.9 degrees, respectively.
Mercedes-Benz India launched the current-generation G here in 2024. It came with significant upgrades, especially inside the cabin. These are aimed primarily at improving the comfort and convenience of the occupants.
Now, the SUV comes with a Nappa leather-wrapped multi-function steering wheel, 64-colours ambient lighting, a Burmester sound system, a widescreen digital cockpit, a sliding sunroof, electrically adjustable and heated front seats with memory functions, an air purifier, and a 3-zone climate control. The infotainment system now gets the latest generation of the MBUX infotainment engine and advanced smartphone connectivity like Apple Carplay.
The more exciting option in the G lineup is the G63 AMG. This performance-focused SUV is powered by a 4.0-liter V8 biturbo engine that produces 577 bhp and 850 Nm, and can do the 0-100 kph run in just 4.5 seconds, much faster than the G400d. The latest generation G63 AMG Collector’s Edition has an ex-showroom price of Rs 4.3 crores.
